Wish I’d seen all these bad reviews sooner!

Made a reservation via booking.com (100% refundable up until 24 hours before check in). I cancelled the booking a week before the stay as checked the hotel’s website and it was cheaper to book direct. Received confirmation of my cancellation with a note that no fee was chargeable.

Cut to a week after the hotel stay and Booking.com charge me £70! They have agreed to refund it but it took 3 days of painfully slow responses to get it sorted and it won’t be returned for another 7+ days. And still no explanation as to why this happened. Will not use them again and will warn people off them.

Wish I’d seen all these bad reviews sooner!

My godmother had pnemonia she cancelled within 24hours of booking as her doctor said flying would be fatal. They said they would refund but did not.

2 telephone representatives from the Philippines feined that they could not hear us and hung up on her face.

Very unprudential business behaviour. Inequitable contract clauses that are not enforceable and yet this company keeps breaking the law.

Booked a room in october for Sons…

Booked a room in october for Sons college graduation in april. Confirmation and all. Upon arrival with everything within 1 hr in all directions booked we were turned away because although our room was "guaranteed" we were turned away because there was no record other than my records wi h were not homored by holiday inn. We are forced after driving all day to his college to drive another 70 minutes to a different hotel. Absolutely crushed. Terrible job. Way to ruin such a momentous occasion!!!!! Then a man who barely speaks english (Antonio) canceled out booking even though i told him not to. It was in effort to cover up the incompentance.

Cancellation

Absolutely appalled with the service provided by Booking.com. Had booked a reservation for 2 rooms on the 20th February for the 27th April to find out the day before that the booking had been cancelled and to only find out off the hotel themselves and not Booking.com. Booking.com has caused a massive inconvenience as we had to scramble last minute to find hotels a day before we arrive to our destination. Shambles of a company and absolutely poor customer service. Booking.com, Booking.never again.

If I could give 0 stars I would

The worst booking platform ever, I wanted to change my flight to an earlier date and I was quoted £1000 surcharges (despite having a flexible ticket). Once I had disputed this the price magically went down to £100, I tried to change my flight again and they charged £650 and were extremely rude. Just no help whatsoever, would avoid at all costs as they are essentially scammers.

I would give a zero star if I could.
A good organisation is judged by how they behave when things go wrong. I have had 2 such experiences one with a booking being cancelled at night leaving me stranded and being billed for a rental that was never received. Getting through to customer service and continuity is impossible. It's as if they set up the system to frustrate you until you go away.
I decided not to pursue these claims and close my account. Time is money and sanity is precious. Use them as Google search then book direct. You will be supporting local businesses and communities.

As a host, you mean nothing

Booking has to be the biggest company that can operate with effectively no customer service. A guest booked under SmartFlex at my property. Booking is supposed to find a replacement guest in the event of a cancellation, or take over the payment obligation. The guest cancelled, and after they didn’t find a replacement, they also didn’t pay me. Speaking to customer service feels like you’re not communicating with a human, but some kind of strange speaking chatbot. They don’t know the policy and cannot help me.

Absolutely horrible experience with…

Absolutely horrible experience with booking.com, I wish I had saw the bad reviews prior to using them. I had booked a hotel for a 2 night stay, 3 months in advance. When we arrived at 9pm at night, the hotel had no record of our reservation. Every hotel within a 2 hour radius was booked for the weekend.

Really bad customer service

OK business but if anything goes wrong you are dealing with none existent customer service. Was told different things in 4 separate conversations about a double charge. There are much companies out there that it would be worth booking through instead.

Booking.com are thieves

Had to check out 3 nights early on our 4 night stay due to a potential fire hazard (bath water Dripping through the lights in the kitchen downstairs). As well as the place being filthy and clearly not cleaned after the previous guests. Booking.com told me I'll receive a refund within 7-10 days. 14 days later they told me I won't be refunded.

Just as bad as ever

Definitely the worst agent ever. They give false information overcharge all the time take payment early etc. I travel a lot but avoid this mess of a company whenever I can.
People who travel infrequently think they best because biggest but in 95% of the cases they charging way more than other companies and frankly cannot be trusted.

No help on refunds be careful of photo shop hotties with false ratings like ozo chaweng in koh saumi and arbour hotel Pattaya
No refund even though we checked out early if the filth holes
If a Thai hotel has no European managers do not stay there
The Thais can’t run a bath successfully let alone a hotel
Booking.com lost me as a customer who spent 10k a year

Appalling experience with airport transfer

I had an appalling experience with booking an airport taxi on booking.com, from JFK airport to my hotel. Can you imagine in a city like New York they found me a driver who spoke little English? He was late; I couldn’t find pick-up location because of language issues; and he lost his way! Everyone who knows Manhattan knows to use the Manhattan tunnel, He didn’t and took a weird route delaying me even further.

It is an untrustworthy platform

It is an untrustworthy platform. The price they stated is different from what they actually charged. When complaining to them about the over charge, they took no responsibility but blaming banks and the properties owners. The fact is they did not state the price correctly because they just care about their commission. I would go for another platform if I knew their trick.

Poor Communication

Once you buy an airline ticket with booking.com, if all goes well there are not much ssues but if you wish to change dates of your travel then the nightmare begins. Their email communications customer services is extremely poor.

Dubious

booking.com must not be on price comparison site, they are total waste of time I have seen prices on sky scanner after painstakingly filling out passenger informations for 4 passengers, booking.com increases price but when I come back to sky scanner and carry out an other search I am seeing same lower prices. I have done this at least 5 times and its not sky scanner its booking.com dirty tactic to trap customers

How can I give minus stars

How can I give minus stars. I booked a weekend break. Booking.com took my money but didn’t create the reservation on their website or send me a confirmation email. Now to sort this out they seem completely unable to understand that I cannot give them a confirmation number because they didn’t give me one. They keep asking for the confirmation number so they can check the details. Their customer service is apparently 24 hours but it takes hours before they respond to any emails. When they eventually respond to the seventh or eighth email they send an email asking you to phone them. I can’t phone them because guess what - you need to give your confirmation number before you can speak to a human being. Next step is to repot the fraud committed by booking.com
Update. Now theyre sending the same emails to me in Italian- the company is not fit for purpose

Do NOT book flights on booking.com

After booking a flight, I realised that the booking they made with the airline does not corrispond to what I paid for and is shown on their confirmation. I checked with the airline and they confirmed that what they have on file is not what I booked, but a lower and cheaper service with no luggage etc. I contacted booking.com customer service multiple times and they simple ignore me. This looks like a scam to me! Do not trust this platform!

My girlfriends account was hacked and…

My girlfriends account was hacked and we have no way to contact their customer service, every time we send a email we get a this template message back:

( Please reply to this email providing as many details as possible, including:

• Booking.com's confirmation number (10-Digit number) and PIN code (4-Digit number):
• Email address (used to make the reservation):
• Accommodation name and location:
• Check-in date and check-out date:

Also, here is our 24/7 customer service English line: +44 20 3320 2609. )

As the account was hacked, we have no way to provide these details but they still keep responding with the same message and when we call the number provided, they ask for the same details and cannot proceed with out them.

Booked before a date at ABBA Voyage. Suburb dinner.
Star of the show for me was the Roasted Prawns in a garlic and chilli sauce starter 👏👏👏
Fillet steaks and ribs cooked to perfection. Wine flowed and staff attentive, cheerful and totally obliging.
Could not have asked for more. Book !!!!
