Valentina by Valentino is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Valentina was launched in 2011. Valentina was created by Alberto Morillas and Olivier Cresp. Top notes are Truffle and Bergamot; middle notes are Strawberry, Jasmine, Tuberose and African Orange Flower; base notes are Vanille, Amber and Virginia Cedar.

The fashion house of Valentino launches its new fragrance named Valentina in mid-September 2011. The fragrance, inspired by Rome and Italian flavors, is developed in collaboration with Puig and perfumers Alberto Morillas and Olivier Cresp.

The composition is designed as a fresh floral - fruity - oriental, full of contradictions, simultaneously delicate and strong, elegant, sensual, rebellious and fun.

It starts off with bergamot from Calabria and white truffles from Alba. Amalfi orange blossoms, sweet jasmine, tuberose and wild strawberries compose the perfume’s heart, settling on the base of cedar, vanilla and amber.

The face of the advertising campaign is model Freja Beha Erichsen, shot by David Sims. Valentina is available as 30, 50 and 80 ml EDP with additional body lotion, body oil, shower gel and deodorant.

Very generic, without character. Something like a lotion scent, also stays close to skin. Unsuccessful blind buy. Returning it. Very meh scent that is overpriced. It is not bad, just not worth having it in my collection.

nandalyne

A true masterpiece of perfumery, even with the hands of L’óreal on it. Valentina is what every feminine perfume should be. Slightly sweet, delicate, floral… oh, boy! What a scent!

AleksOud

I never understood why this is not more popular while Flowerbomb is, maybe not marketed or distributed well?

This is a very pretty warm floral on an ambery base. Not a gourmand for me, has much less vanilla than Good Girl Blush, it is more Euphoria leaning but I never liked Euphoria, it had too much amber and was always too sexy for me, Valentina is more romantic and warmer.

Perfect for winter for meet ups with friends I would say.

AS OF JANUARY 2024:

I spoke with Valentino’s customer care team and it’s been confirmed that Valentina EDP has officially been discontinued. For anyone wanting to try this gorgeous fragrance and anyone who already loves this, stock up wherever you find it available!

Valentina reminds me of Narciso Rodriguez for Her with less musk and a light strawberry note. The truffle note is not strong for me, just slightly earthy, and I don't get the bergamot at all. The cedar is very light too which is good since cedar usually goes bad sour on me. It's a really nice strawberry amber jasmine scent, no complex to my nose, but I'm glad I tried it out. Not sure I'll buy a bottle since I already own Narciso Rodriguez for Her and they seem similar to me. It's a lot lighter though and would be better for summer. Longevity is low and there is little projection. After 30 minutes I can't smell it unless I put nose to wrist and after a few hours it's gone. The price is pretty high for for this low performance but it is a lovely, unusual fragrance.

Edit: so my husband likes this so much more than Narciso Rodriguez for Her (he admitted he strongly dislikes the strong musk in NR for Her and it makes him nauseous). He has a more sensetive sense of smell than I do. He told me Valentina smells like strawberry white chocolate truffles on me. So maybe I'll replace Narciso Rodriguez for Her with Valentina, though I still really personally enjoy NR for Her and it has much longer longevity on me. Too bad that Valentina fades after just a few hours.

sabs1205

My beautiful Valentina! Strawberry, white flower, vanilla Italian goodness. I really hope to get another bottle soon because you’ve been a treasure to me for almost a decade. So sad this is possibly discontinued. <3

alyssarware

This is super pretty, the opening is more earthy/herbal from the truffle and more floral, but the dry down is like a powdery strawberry milkshake. Cozy. Reminds me of Si Fiori

MademoiselleMaya

The gentlest gourmand ever created.
Soft, sweet, subtle. Romantic.
Feminine, girly even, with no masculine side whatsoever.
The only gourmand fit for summer heat. No headaches.
Pure delight in high temperature and closed spaces - shows italian subtlety prefered in feminity.

SophiaViolette

Opens with a raw and earthy truffle note, with white florals notes dancing in the back. The strawberry appears a few seconds later, bringing youth and femininity, balancing with the truffle.

Had to spray over after 1 hour to get some more trail, longevity and a better sense of the heart notes ; very clean tuberose, orange blossom and jasmine, blended with a hint of powdery vanilla.

NB : Depending on taste, the truffle note in the opening can be off-putting for many who do not like the smell of truffles in general, however it goes away at dry-down.

A classic from Valentino worthy to own!

When I sprayed them for a first time I was thinking I must be stupid to blind buy perfumes. The opening is terrible. Old fashioned cologne. I left the bottle and promised myself never buy anything without checking it first. After a minute I was amazingly surprised the perfume settled to the incredibly nice sweet floral but unusual scent. I fall in love with it. One of my best blind buy ever!

HYLAS

Valentina managed to surprise me with its strange musky opening, equal parts fruity and . . . mushroomy? Well, I’ve never eaten a truffle so I can’t say for certain. I can only assume this is the offending note.

As it dries, the fragrance forays into a purple, powdery, plummy sort of profile. Of the florals, I can only detect pungent wafts of jasmine, and every now and then something peppery – perhaps something in the cedar. All in all, this combination isn't the worst but, once fully dry, the musk transforms into that dreaded sickly-sweet soapy scent I simply cannot abide.

Overall, I found Valentina slightly overpowering. Don’t mix soap with your mushrooms, folks!

mariminney

Something bothers me AND gives me a headache. The earthy tones from the truffles maybe? I don’t identify the strawberry, just a generic sweetness at the dry down.

Guerlinade

It's a bit meh. Nothing new, nothing sexy, nothing to write home about. Generic feminine, inoffensive, you want people to know you smell expensive but YAWN? This is it.

LanaDelSlay

You have no idea how feminine, cute, pretty and lovely this scent is, oh my god

nonelle

This is quite nice ambery jasmine, but it's lacking longevity. For skin scent, I would still expect it to last more than 5 minutes.

cecfor

I bought this (one flower bottle) for my daughter who likes strawberries in perfume. I missed that she really dislikes white flowers. She is very sensitive to indoles. This is mostly a jasmine perfume so she did not like this. But I like white flowers and I don’t mind indoles. (I find no indoles in here). I like this one very much. It is a modern uncomplicated soft jasmine with a bit of sweetness. One of my top jasmines actually. So, I bought her another perfume ( one she tested first :)) and I will use this one myself.

cosyangelic

I think this is my most favourite perfume to date. I just wish it was a little stronger/had more longevity - because of its 'faintness' I tend to overspray because I love it so much. Only issue with that is, I am going through my 50ml bottle quickly! I'm on the lookout for a bigger bottle (80ml ... I don't think this perfume is available in 100ml???) and a smaller bottle for my purse or when I am travelling.

ScentFairy

The three flower is different from the one flower. The dry down is similar but the top and heart notes smell quite different to me. I personally much prefer the three flower one - it had a very sophisticated mix of bergamot and flower.

Zae

Love the bottle ... it smells good only for 10 mnts then disappear...

ParisLoveXo

My goodness this doesn’t last on me . After 20 minutes it just disappears . I wanted to like it but had to let it go . The scent is ok to me it feels like it lacked depth

BlackRabbit

Once Again is Fragrantica Showing the wrong Bottle for a perfume? I have this and its only a large single white flower on the bottle unless I have missed something???

SummerRose

Beautiful, feminine, classy floral perfume with a twist. I get a pepper note although not listed.
It is an interesting fragrance and maybe more suited for someone with a bit of life experience... I get average longevity on my skin. I do enjoy this!

frangiris

Very beautiful and feminine. The first time I wore it, I found it a tad too sweet, but the second time I mostly smelled jasmine and truffle. It is not a loud fragrance, but very beautiful and uplifting. I would say that the sweetness is a bit dry, so it is not easily cloying. For the price, it isn't a top performer, but the scent itself is pretty and will be a staple for regular weekdays and romantic evenings out for dinner. I'd say it suits fall.

snigdhaagarwal93

Terrible lasting capacity for people with not so warm skin. I spray 2-3 times on my underarms and also behind my ears and at the nape of the neck. After all that it only lasts 2-3 hours and that too when its cold and I'm not actively moving at all. Disappointed that such an expensive perfume barely lasts at all!

alsa7

How can one describe a "moist" smell, like morning mist? I get the same vibe with Dali Wild.
It's a pleasant smell, "wet" to my nose.

venussansfurs

A sweet floral. I don't typically care for sweet fragrances but I like the strawberry note in this, which is prominent on me, and it isn't sickeningly sweet...just a pleasant, inoffensive scent that smells like strawberries and cream. I like wearing it in June during the day but it's also good in winter, especially February round Valentine's Day.

Piperok26

This is my signature scent. I have owned both the bottle with one flower and the bottle with three flowers and to me they smell different. I sold my bottle with the one flower and purchased the older 3 flower bottle from Ebay and its perfect. Its a bit sweeter, less dusty smelling. I get more of the vanilla and jasmine. I would wear this year round for any occasion. Its so easy going and lasts a good amount of time. Its my favorite Valentino fragrance out of the entire line.

mars_maybenot

I blind-bought this perfume from Nordstrom and I am soooo glad that I did. It's a soft floral, musky woody scent, and it makes me feel like a million bucks whenever I'm wearing it. If you want to smell like a bougie CEO who only wears tailored pencil skirts and blazers with pointed-toe heels to work every day, this is your girl.

heavenofeve

rose, light, fresh. but moderate sillage and longevity, need to spray per 3 hours for good sillage. I used to wear it in a day/outdoor activities. the hotter room temp is, the more fragrant the perfume will be.

DawnNdyria

I so love this fragrance...it's light, it's fruity, it's sweet, and it's powdery everything I love in a fragrance. I don't really smell much of the floral as I do the sweetness and light powder scent. I have now made this my signature scent, I know that I will be reaching for this so much that I'm purchasing a new bottle just to have I never want to run out this beautiful soft elegant perfume.

The longevity is wonderful on my clothing 5-6 hrs, not so much on my skin.

ralixalixy87

I love this perfume!!! The jasmine, white chocolate, strawberry and pepper notes are very strong! Floral spicy goodness!!! I don't get tired sniffing this on me. I just hope that they would continue producing this because this is getting rare nowadays! This is one of my signature scents!

PlanetGrl

It reminds me of Alien but only its best qualities. Definitely sweeter, lighter, younger. It’s a beautiful and sophisticated woman who exudes success, with grace and elegance to spare. Excellent longevity and sillage on me, and garners compliments whenever I wear it, my partner especially likes it.

maria1106

Love at first sight but lasts all these years... It is sexy, it is classy, it is sophisticated . A masterpiece !

What a sexy mysterious masterpiece

A little storytime how Valentina ended up in my collection:
Besides some other "fragrance hunting" I was looking for a new anytime/anywhere fragrance. Something completely new with no memories attached whatsoever - fresh and new fragrance ground, if you will. Previous frags from that category were Tommy Girl, SJP Lovely, Acqua di Gio, J'adore, CK Escape, DKNY Be Delicious, Chanel Chance... Scents I didn't really tire of and actually repurchased several times (it happens! :)) And am still not tired of, technically, but oh the memories and reformulations... I love every fragrance in my collection but need to rotate most of them, in order to - again, after a little breather - fully enjoy them.

So, here I was, at the fragrance counter actually taking up the offer from a sales assistant "can I help you?" - most of the time I kindly say no and wander about, but this time I said, "you know what, yes, please!". So I described the following to her: I am looking for a new everyday fragrance. Something warm, a little floral & vanilla, maybe with a touch of citrus, not too loud but noticeable. A scent that blends with me and doesn't feel like a sticky layer. Been contemplating Allure EDT but am open to your suggestion!

She was really really relaxed & super helpful. Took me from Creed to Annick Goutal, to Lancome - so the whole range, really. A lot of nice scents (new additions to want & further test) but not the one. And then came Valentina. With the introduction that this has been around for a while and would quite fit the bill - and it did. Smelled it on the blotter, that led to testing on the skin, wandering around the mall for a while, to me coming back and purchasing a full bottle.

Valentina, as many have said before, is a very nice creamy floral vanilla with a pinch of fruit and earthy notes - the truffle paired with the cedar, I suppose. Contrary to others though, I feel that this scent has the recognition factor. I, at least, would recognize it now that I know it. On me the tuberose isn't too pronounced, jasmine and orange flower keep things fresh, never entering sticky territory. In a way Valentina has the sweetness of a crème brûlée - sweet but classy, creamy not candy floss. It's elegant and polished, with a wink. Not too serious, approachable and at the same time not suffocating either. Perfect middle ground, if you will, and exactly what I was searching for. Longevity is good, a spritz on clothes helps to extend the fun, sillage is moderate and the bottle is beautiful. Total win in my book!

Vanillastorm40

Can someone explain the "truffle" note that's in this and a lot of fragrances? Does it smell like those chocolate candies that you get in a box of assorted chocolates? I know truffle can also be something mushroom-y. Can someone explain to me please? Thanks guys.

LucieFR

I wear this perfume since it's out (so almost 10 years). I do agree that it's the kind of perfume you have to try on skin.

I am very picky on perfumes as I have a very sensitive nose. I always go for white flowers with an amber base... but I love to be surprised with other notes along the way :)

I like noticeable perfumes but with moderate lasting. The 1st 2011 bottle was perfect but really didn't last very long. Had to put it more during the day. At the time you could smell Bergamote very quickly, the truffle was noticeably present but the floral sent didn't last very long. Loved the sent anyway so I kept wearing it.

Since then they improved the formula (and changed the three flowers on the bottle for a single one). This was much better. I enjoy the bergamote when I spray it on my skin and then, it's heaven... the truffle make perfectly the transition to the the wild strawberry and the white flower bouquet. The jasmine last very long with the amber and cedar which is there you can again smell the truffle.

I agree to say it's a very Italian combination. To me it's the perfect balance between sweetness, floral and earthy smell ! It's my day perfume all year, except in summer when I wear it after 6pm (don't like to put perfume during the day in summer). At night the rest of the year I like to wear For Her from Narciso Rodriguez (white flowers again ;) Hope this review will be helpful !

Pandarapt

I poured a lot of illusion on that truffle. Upon reading the list of ingredients I thought “Truffle? Tuberose? Fruit notes? This can be Black Orchid Lite!” Welp, hope doesn’t always age well.
The truffle is there, earthy a little medicinal but the assemble is very much chugging strawberry swirled milkshake through your nose. With two drinking straws by the dry-down. Very charming in its own way just a little milly-vanilly for me but I’ve been told I’m becoming an old-misery guts when it comes to perfume, grabbing my green florals and dry chypres like Eros grabbed Psyche from terrible prophecies of reformulation.
Yet I can’t help but to yearn for a time when striving to be elegant was more important than striving to just...be young. I guess I am getting old.

Valentina has to be tried on skin, not on a blotter. At least that's how it was for me. When I tried it on paper I found it nice but kind of faint and boring, but when I finally sampled it on my skin this summer I fell in love. Maybe it needs a little body warmth to unfold, or maybe it shows its full potential only on certain skin types, which would explain why some reviewers find it generic.

Of course this didn't turn into a loud, bold perfume on my skin. It's a lovely floral vanilla scent with some surprising twists. This scent has a soft character, but it does have character. The tuberose and jasmine are just sultry enough to smell feminine and interesting, but never too much. The strawberry is woven into the florals and supports their sweetness, this is not an in-your-face candy sweet strawberry note. I love how they used a truffle note instead of the usual patch to give the fragrance an earthy edge. Despite having no musk listed, Valentina smells quite musky on my skin. All the notes lie on a bed of a bright, light, almost ice-cream like vanilla.

In my opinion this would make a good signature as it's easy to wear for daytime, nighttime, work and play, but not one-dimensional or boring.

bolla2909

The art of fragrance never stops surprising me. Based on the reviews Valentina sounds generic and rather boring, with "nice fruity floral vanilla" being the most used words for her. And as I tried her before reading any reviews, and then looked her up here on Fragrantica, I was very surprised because what people are describing here is a very different animal to what I have on my left wrist right now.

I most certainly get white florals, especially the jasmine. I'm not familiar with the African orange flower so I can't comment on that, but jasmine and tuberose are very prominent here to my nose.
This is not fruity in any way, there is some fruit in the background to give the white florals a bit of a backbone, but that's not nearly enough for me to classify Valentina as fruity. I also barely detect the vanilla, its more like the fruits, giving the white flowers a support rather than standing out on its own. And she is not complex. She is very much straightforwardly soft and uncomplicated.

It has to be noted that both the fruit and vanilla are louder if you press your nose up against your skin where you sprayed, or on clothes. So, perhaps this is my skin chemistry that's giving me a completely different experience from other reviewers here. But if I'm not trying to smell it, the wafts around me are creamy jasmine and tuberose, with a hint of spiced vanilla and fruits. Even a little woodsy as it dries down.

When I smell Valentina in the air when I move, all I can think of is something white and soft. Like a soft piece of fabric. With some added jasmine and tuberose on top of that. Soft music and soft touches. Incredibly feminine and delicate. Not sexy, but very sensual. Valentina would suit soft sweaters in pastel colours extremely well.

Valentina is not a loud one, the projection is soft and on my skin I can smell her for about 6 hours before she disappears. She most definitely sits close to you the whole time, but as I always prefer to wear fragrances close to my skin, that's not a problem for me.

Am I the only one that feels this way about Valentina? That she's a lot more beautiful than most people give her credit for and in no way a fruity floral/generic vanilla? Either way, that's how I feel about her, so lucky me I guess. And my boyfriend as well, he's all over me when I wear it!

pip41uk

On me this smells soft, fruity, delicate, and fresh with a slight nutty hint. It's really lovely. Unfortunately the silage and longevity are pretty much non existent otherwise I would definitely be wearing it often.

Annabear

I rarely buy a fragrance for the bottle, and indeed I only bought this because I was curious and the tester was offered up at a great price. The bottle is very cute with its big white Valentino rose featured on it. As for the fragrance, it’s a soft and airy vanilla with a slightly aquatic note which contributes to its breezy accord. Perfectly suited for office wear, it’s youthful and pretty but not exceptional.
Longevity and sillage are average.

ras.kel.5

The strawberry note was the reason I decided to sample this perfume. Unfortunately, it smells plasticky and synthetic and it's present just for the first couple of hours. The white flowers are barely noticeable. The drydown with the base notes of vanilla, amber, and woods comes after just a couple hours. The combination smells very sugary. Lasts about 5-6 hours total, moderate sillage. Can be worn year round.

Overall, this is a pleasant scent, but not impressive enough for me to love it.

KiraVX

A very pleasant vanilla earthy smell. It is definitely not one of the most original fragrances out there, however, it’s a nice choice for an everyday perfume if you love vanilla scents

bel.gravia

Soft white floral juice in a pretty bottle. Beautiful. Valentina is delicate and young, full of wishes and hopes, she's a dreamer in her luxurious appartament. To be honest, I couldn't describe it any better than Fragrantica did 'The composition is designed as a fresh floral- fruity- oriental, full of contadictions, simultaneously delicate and strong, elegant, sensual, rebellious and fun.' That's what it is, I just slightly doubt that Valentina is oriental, because I can't sense anything that would make it a deeper, spicier and darker fragrance, it's rather vise versa- fresh bouquet of flowers in the morning. It's very romantic and calm, can be easily worn at any occasions at any season and would suit any age. It opens with a strong burst of tuber, which I don't quite enjoy, but when middle notes emerge I can mostly sense jasmine and strawberry with a sufficient hint of vanilla. This fragrance is like silk- pleasurable to touch (smell), nice to look at and you would never mind wearing it, overall, it's a very safe and lovely perfume.

DahliaBurns

This a great powdery floral vanilla scent. It’s a modest fragrance so you wouldn’t expect anything free spirited. The amber,
white florals ,and woodsy tones complement each other nicely. I would say this lasted me about two hours. The bottle structure is beautiful too. 4.5 out of 5.

annubi19

Sorry to add although I love this fragrance after wearing it for 2 days now. The lasting power is 1 hour. Some mentioned it's been reformulated and that may be the big factor here. I'm so disappointed that it doesn't stick around and I'd call this a cologne not a perfume because of this factor. I actually own colognes that last 4 to 6 hours this performs for 1 hour only. Big disappointment for such a lovely scent!

jovejove

I don’t know if anyone’s noticed, but it doesn’t smell like it does before. L’Oreal DEFINITELY reformulated it already.

cherrygalore

I've always been hesitant with perfume that are white florals because they tend to have a sharp alcoholic scent to it, which this one does for a few seconds, but luckily it disappears and you're left with a lovely sweet mix of tuberose and jasmine.

I wouldn't say this perfume smells 'old lady-like', but it does have a very sophisticated and gentle vibe to it that most mature fragrances have. Still, it manages to smell youthful.
The strawberry and amber give it that young feel it needs to balance out the more poised notes like cedar and tuberose.

For some reason I imagine a posh boarding school girl in the summertime, walking through grassy fields on her way home.

Valentina is a very prim and proper perfume to me, and is inoffensive and not too daring but still has something sweet and special about it.

Fitting for spring/summer day.

annubi19

This smells like earthy white floral. With a hint of vanilla. The earthiness of it is like crushed jasmine if you roll it on your skin but a bit toned down. I just sprayed it and been 30 minutes. Maybe it needs time to develop. But that's all I can smell. I didn't like the opening. The white truffle is too earthy for my taste but develops into a light white floral I don't get the strawberry and I get the slightest hint of vanilla. Maybe I'll add a second review soon after using it more...

Edit: Ok so I gave it more time and yes it does develop into a very light scent that is white floral laced with a sweet scent that is vanilla strawberry but the strawberry is earthy and organic not synthetic like in Burberry Her. This can be a very nice daytime perfume and a beautiful bridal scent. It should have been called lace because it's very delicate and soft. Lasting power isn't great but if if sprayed on the clothes it will last and the white flowers stay strong while on clothing.

Palmer Eldritch

Ahhhh this perfume is so nostalgic to me... it's the epitome of cute, sexy female. In my early 20s.. I used to love wearing this all the time.... had the body lotion to make sure it LASTED!

I still have a couple of testers... it's been YEARS yet they still smell scrumptious 😍

Bergamote is the first note for about 10 seconds, then it settles into the truffle, strawberry...it's been 15 minutes and the jasmine is STRONG on my skin, a dominant note!

Vanilla, amber & woods linger softly in the background, distinguishable...

It's a very classy scent and I would say suitable for all seasons except for maybe super hot weather...
I used to own it, but I'd definitely pick it up again for nostalgia

Coquita

It's a pleasant fragrance for sure. On my skin, it opens with a citrusy note, a strong synthetic strawberry, and truffle. This phase smells a bit clashy but soon goes smoother as the vanilla picks up and the strawberry and bergamot tone down. As it settles, the white flowers start to bloom, and it dries down to a soft powdery amber.
Both the projection and staying power are moderate, as I've had it on for almost 7h and can still detect it, although faintly. The vibe it gives me is way too posh and girly for me, but I can see the appeal to women more into this kind of scents.

Aland2020

I've tried so many times to make this scent work because I love the idea of the notes, the gorgeous packaging, and the description of others who wear and love this scent. However on me it just smells like sweaty fruit. The strawberry note is like fruit that was picked before it was ripe and is mostly white and bitter. I barely get any vanilla. The white florals have no character or definition. It smells like a musky nondescript "floral" note that combined with what I'm guessing is the truffle note, goes a bit musTY on my skin. I've worn this scent a handful of times in different seasons. I think I liked it better in the spring, and testing it today it was horrid. Almost like a neutered Womanity, but at least that one had some character to it, although it doesn't work on my skin either. This smells like the cheap knockoff body spray version of that. Performance was about as good as a body spray as well. After about an hour the sillage was so close to skin I had to press my nose up against it to smell the faintest hint of perfume. It's almost as if there's not really any base notes that stick around either. It just smells like the fruity musty nondescript floral the entire time. Which is about 4 hours max.

Maybe on someone else's skin chemistry this does something much better than it does on mine, but sadly I think I will have to give up the fantasy I had of this beautiful bottle adorning my perfume cabinet and smelling like a flirty Parisian mademoiselle. I may try the flankers of this someday, but I won't spend any money or go out of my way to do so.

rissy200

The highlight of this fragrance is the warm, smooth and earthy note of white truffle. The composition is delicate and sophisticated and it maintains its femininity due to the well blended floral heart of tuberose, orange blossom and jasmine. Soft sweetness is also present which comes from the strawberries. Cedar and amber play supporting roles in the background.

Overall Valentina would work well for daytime in the spring. It doesn’t have great lasting power but it’s easy to wear.

mevans

I don't get the vanilla so much but it does have a sweetness to it. It definitely needs a half hour or so to settle in. Once it does it is clean and fruity, deep with the amber and cedar, maybe the truffle. Not like anything else I have in my collection. Sillage is not terribly strong. Lasts most of the day but it does not remain until the next morning. Mine has one large beige flower on it, not the three small ones. Seems they've changed the design and I'm glad to see from other reviewers that I didn't miss out on an older, better formula that has now changed. This one is very nice.

irismama

First try, the truffle scent got me, musty & old. The second try was much better, but a little too sweet for me. I passed it on.

SoftWisdom

I find it fascinating that some think this perfume smells mature and others think it smells young. Perspective is really everything. I personally get the impression that it's a "young" smelling fragrance, but not so young an adult can't wear it. Basically, the perfect 1st scent for a young lady living in the 90s decade perhaps? It's soft, fresh, sweet strawberries & creme, and it doesn't smell like dense aggressive smelly chemicals like a lot of new releases do; Yay! This is a gentle perfume that behaves well in warm weather; and while not loud, it lasts a decent amount of time on my skin. Casual daytime, demure, clean, sweet, and well behaved. The animalic is there in the background making things more interesting, but for me it doesn't ever take over.

Update 2022: I hardly ever find myself wearing Valentina, and I think it's because of the sweetness. I love the opening of this fragrance (the truffle, bergamot, and strawberry), but as time goes on it gets too sweet on my skin. I wish it had a mossy base note that would temper the sweetness down. I'll be passing her along but I'll sure miss the pretty top & mid notes!

Ok this is weird but Valentina reminds me of an updated 80s powerhouse fragrance... like what I would imagine Poison to smell like if formulated today with strawberry instead of plum. Tuberose is huge and fleshy here, with warm sweet orange flower, followed by a dry vanilla, jasmine and that hint of powdery jammy strawberry over fat earthy truffle. The notes seem close together in that 80s way where everything is volume up. My first reaction was ‘sweet’ my second reaction was ‘sexy,’ and it suddenly took its place next to Poison which I’ve been wearing this week. I’m not surprised to see the younger generation place it as a mature perfume despite its sweetness, this is not something they’re used to! I’m kinda loving it.It’s nice to see that kind of joyful extravagance in perfumery.

mirrorghost

i got a sample of this in a swap. it's a fruity tuberose with vanilla...primarily strawberry with tuberose. a bit too sweet for my liking, but not horrible. just fruity sweet.

irismrd

Bottle is very beautiful. I got a display bottle at fragrancenet.com to ensure that I have the old bottle not the new one with just one flower. So pretty! As for the scent, I find it pretty, young. I wish it has a better sillage. Longevity on me is around 4-6hours. I like it but I like the bottle more than the juice :-)

missjodles

I received a sample of this perfume and it's safe to say it's not my type of fragrance at all.

It smells very mature and a lot older than what a woman my age (21) should be wearing - it reminds me of my mum, and would probably smell very lovely on her. But the earthy scent and hugely strong powdery florals are definitely not my preference for perfumes. I don't sense a lot of the vanilla somehow, just an array of flowers. Didn't get any kind of strawberry or sweetness, and I usually absolutely love sweet fruity scents. This is not exactly one of them in my opinion. Smelling it for too long kind of hurts my nose.

Definitely a very classic style of floral fragrance, so if you love powdery white floral scents give it a try, but it wasn't for me.

AlexN

I just read a review that said "if this were a person she'd be ginger...." and I laughed out loud as I am wearing this right now and am ginger.... and am also thinking about my garden! Haha
Yeah - this perfume smells fantastic in the garden. When I first started wearing it and was trimming the wisteria I kept smelling this fabulous waft of something... and was peering over the neighbours wall thinking: What is that lovely smell? and then I realised it was me!

Yasue

On me, this is vibrant without being obnoxious and it's a great as a laid-back, summertime scent. It has an ease about it that makes it feel very casual and youthful without being too syrupy. To my surprise the strawberry comes forward on me more than any other scent I've owned with this note, but it's a tart and fresh berry. The florals go very muted and powdery on me thanks to the woody notes, but it works well enough on humid days. It's not terribly complex or very memorable, but that doesn't make it any less pleasant. It reminds me of the scent I'd expect to be present in a high-end face powder.

If this were a person, it's that ginger-haired woman who manages to pull of wearing braids well into adulthood without looking foolish. She may not be model-gorgeous, but men instantly adore her; she doesn't even notice though, because she's humming a jaunty tune and daydreaming about her garden.

Zaleska

Nice! Smells like something from the 90s, Byzance, perhaps, but revisited. Unfortunately it has a very poor projection.
No.
Edit: yes, I bought it!

sail0rmars

Valentina is really a perfume that deserves to be in a woman's collection. It smells so pretty, fruity, floral, vanilla, a bit earthy..it has a bit of everything! And do you know what? It does not smell perfumey and artificial, it smells real! It is light, but even this is a part of its charm. Because it smells like a woman. Even if you don't smell it after a while, the others will notice. This is a perfume that you can overspray without being too much.

jovejove

This is now L’Oreal

Phantosmia Bella

Not groundbreaking, but a very lovely perfume, a watery, slightly earthy, fruity floral composition.
It has a slight chypre feeling about it, but mainly it veers towards a more palatable and sweet scent.
Dry down is very very nice, yet the first 5-10 minutes smell like the bland scent you find at the beauty section of department stores. I recommend giving it a few minutes (and a couple of tries) before passing your final judgment.

pimentosugars

I had a real problem with Valentina because of those adverts where people are running around looking for our missing heroine, 'Valentina! Valentina!'She has somehow slipped out the gates and is living the grand life snogging men in taxis and partying. Why do these people looking for her care? Who are they to keep her indoors anyway? Is she a princess? A werewolf? What? Added to which, the bottle lacks a little oomph, pretty but just not me. However...

Ended up with a tester yesterday, and was really surprised! I haven't really had much experience with a predominant strawberry note that isn't candy sweet. Valentina does this very well. The buzz of white flowers and a generic 'Nice department store perfume' smell kicks in after about an hour and a half, but while the strawberry tuberose is there, it's quite nice. My husband liked it, which was a surprise, as he's not usually a floral-fruity fan. This is marketed as a young woman's fragrance, but it is grown up enough to wear for the evening. Perhaps being a Princess Werewolf has its good points!

Just started a bottle with the new packaging (single flower rather than the original triple flowers) and I believe it's the same formula!

Incredibly relieved as this is one of my all time favorite perfumes.

Classy, earthy, youthful, timeless, sexy, and utterly delicious; Valentina is effortless beauty.

Love this for all seasons, day and night.

Seducianne

This is an absolutely classy, ladylike perfume, sweet but not cloying, fruity but not young, and what surprised me is that the very last phase of the drydown (we're talking 5-6 hours after applicatiom), it ends up faintly reminiscent of Narciso Rodriguez for her EDP. Beautiful!

CherryBlossom

I have the same question of beritskagen...

beritskagen

Just a heads up! They seem to have changed the bottle. It's just one white flower on it now. Looks a lot like the Acqua Floreale. Is it the exact same perfume as before though? If you know, please tell :)

lmwimsatt

This smells like peach pit

alexisx

Purchased blindly last year, the truffle had invaded my nose and set it aside. Today I gave him a chance about 17 ° and ... WOW sweet, enveloping, chypre ... today no earth or creamy strawberries ... Too bad the duration really limited

MoniSK

This is one of my last purchases. I got from my friend valentino valentina bodylotion and i liked it so much that i wanted to buy parfume to pair with it. This is special sophisticated, normally i dont like intense vanilla but in this parfume its perfection and balanced. I think this is for special for date or special occasion. I love the bottle though!

stefanie76

One of my favorites. Valentina is a pleasing feminine floral backed with delicate strawberries, warm amber, and faint pepper.

It is powerful at first but very quickly softens. It is classy, calm, maybe a little coy. Most people would find it very pleasant and inoffensive. It's a pretty every day scent for spring/summer.

The bottle is a little work of art. Love.

wickeddd

Somehow I expected more from this perfume. I thought that behind the beautiful name and the gentle bottle there will be a unique perfume, something different and memorising.I didn't find such a thing. Too ordinary for me.

albena.alexandrova

I have this perfume for 1 year and I rarely use it, I do not like it. But today I was in a mood for experiments and I sprayed. I felt it very well the first 2 hours, then totally disappeared and I was very angry. But outside, as I walked, it was light rain and it became damp. Here I am in autumn, about 14 degrees Celsius. Suddenly this perfume broke out, I felt it very distinctly and pleasantly. Like a soft fruit glaze for a cake.

olga.bondarenko.777

Exactly oriental-floral scent... Jasmine, tuberose and hint of tuber in the middle.. vanilla? hmmm, somewhere very far. Strawberries.. What strawberries??? Actually good, floral fragrance, unpretentious and tasteful. Nothing outstanding, but keeps good to the last sniff ... Sweet notes I can smell only from the bottle, on my cold skin just flowers.

UPDATE: Perfect fragrance for crunchy winter!!!

Beadvised

Very nice! The vanilla is what makes this fragrance work. In combination with the other notes. So hard to find a good floral vanilla fragrance where the vanilla isn't masked by florals.

nightcutter

I like this. It's a gorgeous creamy vanilla and white floral with a slight sharpness from the strawberry. But... as a brand's flagship fragrance it is on the ordinary side and more importantly performs badly being a skin scent (on me at least) within 30 minutes. At its price point it is not very good value for money but it is so charming I would like a bottle none the less.

missk

Valentina is a soft, powdery floral on my skin. I can understand its appeal being so very pretty and delicate, however I wish it were a little stronger, hence the reason why I can't wait to test the intense version.

To my nose Valentina smells like an elegant talcum powder, very smooth and dusty on the skin. There are no stand-out floral accords, just a pleasant and alluring blend of orange blossom, jasmine, tuberose, vanilla and amber.

The strawberry note is short-lived in the top and heart notes, however it adds a somewhat sweet and flirty aspect to this fragrance which I rather enjoy.

Valentina may not be super unique, nor is it a stand-out, head-turning fragrance, but it is very pretty and easy to wear. Although the longevity is superb I wish this EDP had bigger projection as I desperately want the people around me to smell what I smell emanating from my wrists.

This fragrance has many positive attributes and it's a shame that I didn't get my hands on a bottle sooner. Here's hoping that the Intense flanker rocks my socks off.

Another Notino sample:

Goes on like a big, plump, strawberry, with a little washing up liquid (detergent) smell.

Then, shortly afterwards, a slightly creamy smell joins them.

Like if you were washing up bowls, after they had strawberries and cream in them.

Then the detergent smell recedes somewhat and you are left with strawberries and cream.

Didn't get any bergamot, or tuber, at first.

The "cream" may be coming from the tuberose?

If so, that is nice and actually, quite a clever use of the natural creaminess of tuberose.

Or the whole thing may just be chemicals...

So far, very wearable and pleasant.

Not exactly challenging; but, nice enough.

Perhaps just a tad too artificial, though?

What would be nice for a lipgloss flavour, is perhaps not necessarily what we should be aspiring to wear in a fragrance?

I will give this a like, though, as it's pretty and fun.

Will update if the drydown is, in any way, surprising.

But, somehow, doubt it will be!

Update: Drydown is nice, actually - orange, strawberry, tuberose and vanilla.

Sweet but not too sweet.

LittleParfumista

A true classic.

Delicate, elegant, classy, tender. Soft and powdery vanilla with lots of florals. Light and sweet, suitable for everyday wear and during the hot summer days, when you still feel like wearing florals.

Safe, but not boring. Familiar, yet different.

And lovely bottle to go with the nice juice inside.

Valentina - I am a lover of the Valentino's Valentina line. I finally added this one to my collection and I am extremely pleased. I have owned Valentina Assoluto for a while now but it is too dense to wear during the summer. This Valentina is a sheer version of the Assoulto with a lovely strawberry note, very delicious, a bit sweet but not sugary. The most enjoyable aspect the two share is the blend of tuber with the bergamot, as you can tell I am in love with the opening, its fresh and earthy at the same time. I also like that this one skips on the patchouli.

Valentina is not a sillage monster by any means but I think that is its intention. Overall its a sweet, floral, clean spring/summer scent that doesn't delve into tropical territory.

xJessax

It's a shame this gorgeous scent simply does not last... even with 5+ sprays. :( It's truly unfortunate, the delicate but intriguing notes of tuber, jasmine, tuberose, and a hint of delicious strawberry fade out rather quickly on me. If you don't mind spraying this one every 3 hours or so, then give it a sniff.. but, as stated by others, I expected more from Valentino as a brand. I probably won't be repurchasing. This was my favorite scent when I was 19. <3

saintleegray

The scent itself, I really like. It's smooth, if that makes sense. Slightly cool, with whiffs of light powder, vanilla, some white flower and the barest hint of strawberry. Not spectacular but very wearable and pretty. Not every perfume has to be artwork, sometimes I just want to smell good. :)

The problem is longevity, at least on me. It becomes a VERY close skin scent after less than an hour. That seems kind of short for the cost and the house.

albena.alexandrova

I took him with great expectations. I imagined a stylish, classy, clean aroma, not so cute. I am disappointed longevity and sillage. for the price - quality is not satisfactory. I like bottle and base notes. beginning is sticky, in the heart does not feel white flowers and sweet tartness of strawberry, and more flavor to cakes. not my flavor. maybe for ladies lovers of sweet fragrances :)

Adina Galani

That sensation when You noticed that the sprayer just broke in your purse is "sublime". :-) Bottle is ok, little cheap if U ask me, the smell, well for a dark perfumes lover like me, this is as good as not worth the money. But again, not my type which easily means for others it may as well be the signature scent. Once again, watch out on that sprayer, it breaks easily!

laurenc2946

Bought this one mainly for its Jasmine notes, however the dry down on me leaves a warm vanilla smell which is one smell I do not like. I therefore have a like/dislike relationship with this.
I have moments of appreciating the complexity of this fragrance, and times I feel its just too sweet for me. I have to be in a specific mood to put this on.
It does last and I can always smell this on my clothes after wearing this days later.
A good fragrance for an evening out or a date, I wouldn't personally wear this to the office as its just a tad too commanding.

mrspowell

I finally bought this perfume and I love it! The packaging is very girly, sophisticated and nicely done (the flowers are very cute and made out of some sort of thin tin). To me this fragrance is sweet and soft. Its the kind of sweet that is sophisticated and elegant and won't offend anyone. It also has great staying power. About four hours ago I sprayed some on my wrist and after cooking (garlic and onions), cleaning kitchen, bathing my baby and having her cream all over my hands too I can still smell this fragrance. There is no way i could ever go wrong with this perfume so it will be my anytime perfume. I will also get the body cream, lotion and body wash and display them all together on their own mirrored tray apart from my collection.

PinkRainbow

This is rosy, sweet, and super-pretty! Very girly, yet somehow with a sophisticated spin. GREAT bottle. Good sillage, and very classy, with a few unusual notes.

snoopyQ

Very ordinary scent. Sweet, pleasant, inoffensive and very wearable. The strawberry sweetens up the tuberose quite a bit. The truffle helps to balance the sweetness.
I like to wear this scent a lot because it is so pleasant and ordinary. People will not get offended.
It is not an overly strong scent, and does not project. So people have to come close to you to smell it.
This scent actually got me hooked on perfume, It was the most beautiful scent I had ever smelt up until then...;)

Soofiya

I'm allergic to mushrooms and this tuber note which valentino seems to like it alot, can ruin even the prettiest scents for me.it gradually becomes more and more dominant and covers all the other notes makes me ill and I can't feel better unless I vomit.oh well,so I know that I shouldn't come close to any perfume with this note but I received valentino valentina as a gift.it has an adorable bottle and mixture of vanilla, white florals and strawberry looked so promising,so I couldn't help myself but give it a try
I could get musty smell of tuber but it was very faint and well hidden beneath sweet white florals, tuberose,Jasmine and orange flower were there and it was just the right amount of them, they were creamy but also a tad soapy.their cleanness balanced dirtyness of tuber..I didn't expect to be able to detect strawberry but it was there, adding a playfull freshness to flowers and then vanilla showed up and this juice seemed so delicious, not too sweet but nice and great for spring/early fall..unfortunately tuber came closer and closer..it's sourish dirty smell became impossible to ignore so I had no choice but scrub it and I usually never do so..I gave it other chances but all end the same way..now I'm simply accepted that this is not for me,but would be nice for other whitefloral/Vanilla lovers
So I have an 2.7 oz bottle just 15 mil of it used and I don't think I'd use the left

mschnabel666

I blind bought this one... I'm a lover of all things sweet, vanilla, gourmand, etc...

My first test was on paper, and all I got was a pretty generic tuberose (which I really don't like in huge, suffocating doses.... like Madonna's Truth or Dare) that also smelled soapy and common? Like an average body lotion or talcum powder?

But I could tell there was something extra there.

With a proper clothing/skin chest wearing... OMG-- this is adorable and kinda yummy! Smells like white flowers/tuberose and jelly beans! I just love it! It's soft and feminine, and sadly... not that potent. It's average.

So I wonder... Do I want/need the Assoluto/Intense? What I love about Valentina is the jelly bean smell... I don't want earthy dirt in my jelly beans... and the Intense seems to have a very earthy drydown.
I want Valentina to be more powerful... but I'm on the fence about the Assoluto because it would be another costly blind buy... Decisions...

Edemay

Love how this is fresh, sweet, aquatic and anamalic all at the same time.

LoveJoy22

Chalky, Soapy, Creamy, & Slightly Sweet! On my skin, this fragrance also has a tinge of a peppery note as well. This perfume is familiar yet different. I really like it.

Piperok26

This is such a nice comforting earthy sophisticated scent. When I wear this, the word that comes to mind is "posh". This is great for the office and all seasons.

ZBear

Valentina is quite a unique fragrance. The opening is all strawberry, a little bit of a synthetic "Strawberry Shortcake" kind of scent. The drydown is where the jasmine slowly makes its appearance, and then gives way go an earthy underbase (must be the tuber.) There is a tendency for the tuber to go a little to earthy so that the effect is almost like dirt or the collar of a shirt that has been worn but not yet laundered. Not foul by any means, but just "natural" like a bit of skin oil.

I find this fragrance more appropriate for cooler weather. There is something quite warming about it.

The bottle is very beautiful, but I wish I didn't have to keep it in the box with the plastic travel cap. I think this would be impossible to travelet with otherwise.

Price point is a bit steep, and it is not widely found in all stores here in the US - only a more limited distribution.

Overall, I do like it, and would consider repurchasing if I finished the bottle.

raiza1990

This is a nice perfume.
When i first sprayed i got a creamy tuberose and a salty smell. I do not know which note is responsible for the salty smell (maybe the vanilla here is salted?), but i like it. Later on, it develops into a sweet perfume with a background of white flowers. The cedar gives it a dense, a bit dark vibe. I do not get much strawberry or bergamot and i am not familiar with tuber, so i can not say how strong is the smell of it on this fragrance. I do smell something that i never smelled before, i think it is the Tuber, but i am not sure. It could well be a combination of other notes. If it is tuber, than i can smell it from the beginning to the end and it is quite intense.
Overall, a good daytime fragrance.

gillbert

This is absolutely daily perfume. Very easy to love because it is unoffensive at all. Very bright bergamot in the opening and heavy jasmine, tuberose and orange flower in the middle notes. Tuber and musk are making it creamy and sensual. In dry down, i love the vanilla, amber and woody note, overall, i love the scent even it doesn't last on my skin. i have to spray on my shirt to make it last longer.

GreenPistachio

I really love the review "Action" left. (To be specific: the one posted Apr.1,2012 about Valentina being an 'old school'-thick floral, creamy fruity... and a GREAT modern 'classic'...etc.) That's a good description! With Valentina, I smell the strawberry, jasmine, and tuber. I'm guessing that the tuber, (black truffle) is what gives it the "earthy" smell which is light and I like it. The jasmine is great too, not overpowering, (I've had bad experiences with jasmine in the past). There is a "strength" to this perfume that is nice. I do not find it to be overpowering and it does last throughout the day, it just gets lighter. There will be times when I notice it even though it was sprayed hours ago.

Jimjamm

I ordered quite a few samples a while ago, and this was one of them.

At first, it smells very spicy and then slowly builds up to a very pleasant floral scent and is lastly followed up by a sweet, spicy scent.

It's potency I'd say isn't very long. However, it smells wonderful while it lasts. I would describe this as a sexy perfume.

I'd give this perfume 3 out of 5 stars.

ana hen

Little sad princesses perfume ☺.I love it for delicate sweet and not so sweet smell, creamy feeling like good Italian ice cream , some cold notes.
Also I can feel some mushroom forest notes , it's very interesting experience.just smell of fog or maybe young mushrooms .earthy note.

I really want to try also floral version .

diedofennui

I find this fragrance to be utterly ordinary. Nothing stands out for me in terms of notes, it is a plebeian gourmand with nothing going for it and very poor sillage and longevity. If one is a fan of floral gourmands, there are so many more interesting options, even in your local drugstore. It is a shame that Valentino decided to run with this scent and create so many variations. I admit to being hopeful about Valentina Poudre since it appears to be an entirely different animal. I also give them points for bottle design as the pale matte roses draw the eyes amongst the rows of shiny fragrance bottles. I'd advise not blind buying this one.

senalica

The bottle is indeed a beauty - so elegant and sophisticated, Valentino did great with this design. The perfume itself is very sweet, but not syrup-y or sticky sweet. It is light, clean and optimistic - I mostly smell strawberry and flowers. I would however prefer some more bitter or musky notes in the composition, that would make the fragrance more interesting. The longevity sadly is weak - within an hour on my skin it is gone without a trace.

Madrona

Mm, yes. First off, beautiful bottle. This is such an interesting scent. It is ugly-pretty like Coco Rocha, and I mean this in the best way possible. The combination of vanilla, tuber, jasmine and strawberry is just so strange, so bizarre and so addictive. Full of contradictions indeed, they really hit the mark with this one. Love it!

boutlagh

got it yesterday as a gift from my mom who loves the bottle and the scent. To me, it's just a clean shampooy scent; the same we have in shampoos for dry hair ( things with magnolia and sheabutter)
the smell is clean and warm, yet not spectacular. So it's a little bit of a disappointment for me who was expecting something pinky floral.

Miriana93

Amazing scent! I get so many compliments when I wear it. It's a close contender to being my signature scent after Nina Ricci L'Eau. Lasting power is great and the bottle is so pretty. On me its a very sweet floral. I usually wear it during the day or during the night when I want to feel extra girly. I will definitely repurchase a larger bottle when my current one finishes.

Judrops71

Such a beautiful bottle which holds in my opinion a not so beautiful scent, it's nice but that's about as far as I'd go to comment on it. Nice to wear as a quick squirt if your nipping out but wouldn't pay all that money for it again..

Jurisprude

I like this fragrance because it is a big white floral and a big vanilla and over time I get a sense of big cotton and large tuberose. It's beautiful. I also like it because it has a great staying power and the dry down is wonderful. At least 6 hours before re-appplying. You can't go wrong! And that's all before we talk about that beautiful bottle!

Toom_Snoopy

Valentina reminds me of vanilla ice-cream with strawberry topping, but it's not too gourmandish as it might seem. There is some creamy flowery scent to keep its oriental aspect. It's not powdery just creamy and soft. The drydown has some old-fashioned vibe likes the scented wedding card/paper.

dr.alia.khabbaz

annreport1

For the price I'm paying, I expect it to last at least 4 to 5 hours. (Bought the 50ml EDP) Yes it could be my skin chemistry but I couldn't smell it on me after 1 hour. I asked my husband and he said 'What am I suppose to smell again'?
This is not a blind buy as I tested it and I genuinely like this fragrance. IMO it smells like strawberry flavor popsicle ice-cream...the one that you just take it out from the fridge. I know the smell is nothing fancy but I like the jasmine + strawberry combo.Too bad it doesn't last long and the sillage is close to none. I'm keeping the bottle though.

fleurdefi

This is my favorite floral for the winter. Creamy strawberries and white flowers, with a hint of earthiness to keep it interesting. Simple, yet unique and very beautiful.

xJessax

I literally woke up craving this scent.
This is an unusual one, some people will love it, and some will hate it. It's a perplexing one; and intriguing nonetheless.
It opens with a burst of freshness with a peppery accord. Hmm... interesting. For the first couple of minutes it's almost masculine on me... but still feminine in a way. I ponder to my self for a moment, trying to make sense of this interesting smell, and I go back in for another whiff. The heart soon develops, the stunning jasmine sparkles and shines; it's the star. The creme de la creme. The strawberry has just ripened, adding a fresh, sweet, fruity zest. This scent really enchants me. It carries my imagination off to a fantasy realm. Is this love?.. After a few hours, the inevitable dry down appears... I wish this scent would last forever. The intoxicating blend of vanilla, amber, and cedar wrap up Valentina to perfection. She leaves me wanting more.
I agree with the description "full of contradictions". It's simultaneously floral, sweet, earthy, animalic, slightly spicy, cold, warm.. it's simply dazzling.
Longevity: 3-4 hours on me...please Valentina, won't you stay?
Sillage: soft-moderate
The packaging is to die for! It's the most beautiful bottle I think I've ever seen. I will forever have a place for Valentina in my collection, and her memories will always remain in my heart! She's a hopeless romantic. <3

40plus&fab

I wanted this one really bad. I tried a sample and immediately put in on my wish list and swapped handsomely for it. . . well something changed between the sample and the full bottle. All the sweet jasmine, vanilla and strawberry I got from the sample is a slightly sweet "perfumed fart" in the full bottle. I'm sorry to be so graphic but it is what it is. I'm not totally sure what tuber smells like but I do know what indolic Jasmine smells like and while it's not quite "that" bad, it's not what I'd call a "pretty" smell. That note or notes never really goes away and stays from top to bottom. It does become more moldy roots as the time passes . . . sad.

ellapage

First of all, the bottle is gorgeous. I have the 30ml version and I was so happy that the smaller bottle also has a beautiful flower in it (the top pink one that has a white leaf). Sometimes the small size bottles are not as pretty, which sucks, but that's not the case here. There is only one flower though, but it's understandable as the bottle is ofc smaller in size.

I think this is quite a classy scent. Often perfumes with white floral's in them can be described as "grandma scents", but I don't think Valentina is one of those scents. It's sophisticated but fresh. I would say that this scent is targeted to more mature people, but I think this could also be a young lady's first "grown up" scent. I personally can't really pick up any vanilla. There's something slightly bitter about this scent...don't get me wrong, it's not at all a bad thing...It actually makes this scent quite fresh and it makes the floral notes feel authentic. I think it's the bergamot mixed with the florals. I can maybe also pick up a teeny-tiny bit of strawberries, but to me it's not that obvious and I wouldn't have known there were any until I saw the notes here. Definitely the most identifiable note is the jasmine. I don't think it's too overpowering at all, but I do believe the jasmine is what might be throwing some people off, especially younger people. There's also something slightly spicy about Valentina, which makes this scent stand out a bit more from it's overall softness.

I like how this scent develops. It keeps that freshness trough out its wear, but in the end stages of this perfume I get more amber and the other base notes, which makes Valentina quite nice and creamy in the end.

Over all, it's a lovely scent. Quite safe, but not generic in my opinion. I think people who don't enjoy white flowers, or who aren't used to them might also fancy this scent. For me this is not a must-have in my collection, so it's unlikely I'll repurchase this when it's gone. But I sure will enjoy the scent greatly while it lasts.

Ouch!

Quite disappointing really this one.

While it smells nice, "nice" is all it is. Gorgeous bottle, gorgeous name...boring perfume.

It had a lot of promise on paper with the unusual note of truffle, mixed with heady florals and strawberry.

What it smells like is mainly a creamy tuberose (which is lovely) a touch of jasmine and an abundance of strawberry. I think the strawberry is what ruins it, it pushes into a yawnnnnn. It sweetens the perfume up too much and masks what could have been really cooL!

This combination unfortunately makes it fall into the run of the mill floral fruity realm. I've smelled this many times before and it smells like lots of other things on the market.

Add in the fact that this perfume doesn't develop, or have any character and for me...it's a fail. Sorry Valentino. This one isn't so great.

Waltzing Matilda

Jmalone84 you're absolutely right. It's ho hum - boring to say the least. I don't mean it's awful, but so samey! It's like a zillion other fragrances out there, and quite disappointing. It can't come close to the excitment and intrigue of its sister in the black bottle, Valentina Oud Assoluto. To those who love it, enjoy!

Jmalone84

So I tried this today, and this just smells like everything else right now, reminds me of the Rihanna frags with some jasmine. It's nice enough, pretty even, but just so generically so. Unoriginal and leaving me unimpressed. The bottle is beautiful though, I don't know why but I just expected SO much more.

A word to describe is lack-lustre.

fleur fragile

Upon first smelling my wrist, there is an incredible amount of creamy vanilla. Normally I avoid scents with too much vanilla, but this vanilla seemed to be blended with a strong and bitter fruity note (Bitter orange maybe). If it weren't for the extra fruity kick, I would have dismissed Valentina as a generic girly girl perfume.

There's definitely a lot of jasmine, which is noticed soon after the vanilla is. The bitter fruitiness quickly fades away, leaving a creamy scent like I first described. It's very sweet and rather soft, and there's still a slight sour and spicy hint beneath all the sweetness. But the sourness and spiciness is not overpowering, and in my opinion it adds character to a perfume that could have easily turned generic.

The description for this perfume states that it is "full of contradictions" and I would agree. The contradictions work, though, which surprised me.

I feel that someone wearing Valentina would be a sweet, caring person with a wild and seductive side hidden somewhere within them. This is best worn on clothes if you want it to last more than a couple of hours.

emmarion

I get lots of vanilla in this. Very powdery, but in a warm, clean sort of way. It's quite simple and smells similar to a few others, but overall a very nice wearable scent. Plus the bottle is to die for! What happened to the picture here?!

saashaas

The scent is very warm with a slight spicyness to it. I love it, but don't wear it as much in the summer as the spicyness kind of cuts in the nose. Basically, when I'm warm the smell kind of changes to sharp and spicy.

But it is a beautiful smell. I often get compliments. It is very mature but not a chanel no.5 kind of mature.

AllyWillems

This smells... bad. At first it's floral and a bit fruity, but it dries down to the tuber scent (I think?) which makes it smell a bit like rotten eggs or a mushroom. I tested a sample of this today and everytime I smelt myself I'd shudder and feel embarrassed. Nope nope nope, not for that pricetag.

windhill

WTH happened with that image of the bottle...?

angeldoll

First of all, longevity is great. Secondly, I am almost 23 years but this perfume make me feel older.I recommend it to women 30 plus years old. Maybe it's just my opinion. But I think this perfume is for mature woman. I see pretty woman in an elegant black coat, with black simple pumps and hot red lipstick :-) This woman wearing Valentina perfume. The scent is floral and sweet. But I dont smell any strawberries. Only jasmine, soft vanilla, and significantly tuber. What about bottle ? A bottle is one of the most beautiful :-)

victoria.mei1992

I didn't like it cause it was very linear. The smell all the time.

sapphire14

I have only owned this once but I LOVED it and thought it was an absolutely beautiful perfume! I used the entire bottle right up until the last drop, which is quite rare for me. I would love to own it again! This scent is sophisticated, elegant and not too sweet at all. Perfect for both the day and night, in my opinion. It's quite a mature scent but I think some younger women can pull it off. Whenever I wore this perfume I always had compliments from others saying my perfume smelt amazing.

Contessa01

The bottle is so pretty. I like this light fruity floral but don't love it. It is similar to Givenchy Play in the pink bottle. It is fluffy and pretty and girly.

Nyssa Ainley

I own D & G The One Desire and this has a similar feel to its composition.

But ...

As well as the Tuberose and Jasmine element there is that earthy, just dug soil then the watering can sprinkles clear cold water and then you close your eyes as the aroma hits your nasal passages. Heat from the sun, mingling with the ozonic cold water and fresh Earth just makes me! I love that smell so much, as it brings to life memories of me as a child at play during the long Summer breaks ... when the haze of Summer surrounded us with fun and jollity.

Then it settles down to the floral part where they become an intense cream on your skin almost giving it a moisterising aspect this is when the base notes come out of hiding.

The warmth comes from the amber whilst the scent herself appears to be anchored down by the cedar. Vanilla does what she does best and that is sweeten the Earthy tone somewhat adding that extra elegant touch.

I love this scent and it may have moderate longevity and little sillage but I tend to make a statement with my makeup. Let my scents be a part of me and not JUST me sometimes.

Love the round bottle with the floral decoration ... everything about this fragrance matches well, even if there are those slight but very intriguing, contradictions.

This scent is me in a bottle!

jes1123

I really love this perfume! I typically can't stand florals and only wear warm woodier scents, but this floral has something the others don't. It's dynamic, not generic, it's light and feminine, but nocturnal and sexy at the same time. I feel good when I wear it and I don't get sick of it. I also tried the EDP version and I go back and forth between them but I'm pretty sure I like this one better. The one major downside (and for me this is a HUGE negative): I don't get complements from either men or women. That's usually my true test for a perfume. My boyfriend never said a word and when I asked him what he thought he said he wasn't a fan. My friends said the same thing and my mom told me she hated it. Tough crowd.

necra

Imádom!!!

victoria.mei1992

There are no vanilla. Look at valentino site.
"Calabrian bergamot is a hymn to exuberance and freshness, shaken up by the insolence of white Alba truffles. In their trail, jasmine, Amalfi orange blossom and tuberose celebrate radiant beauty, while being offset by the rebellious delight of wild strawberries. Finally, the nobility of cedar is seduced by the captivating sensuality of amber..."

laugreenvillage

Id' like to swap my 50ml bottle of Valentina, used 2 or 3 times at most. I like classic fragrances, if you are interesting let me know!

Rhairis

The strawberries left the list.
I do not understand.

Vegas Pauli

Starts off pretty sweet with the strawberries, but its surprising not too fruity which is good. Then its all jasmine, strawberry and vanilla with a just hint of the tuber. I really wish the cedar and amber played out more it would have added more depth to this. Its a little simple and just a tad too sweet, but there is something elegant about it. Its does not smell cheap at all, its actually nice, rich and smooth, you can tell its very well crafted. Nothing way out of the ordinary, but nicely done at the same time. To be critical, It's just a little too safe to make a lasting impression. Overall, I give it a solid B.

francess.raymundo

I chose this over Dolce by D&G when I went shopping at Sephora recently. I didn't think that a perfume with truffles in it could be ever so fragrant and feminine; this one turned out to be a lovely surprise!

BethiaCharlotte

This is a very subtle and soft perfume. It sits very close to the skin, with a delicate floral scent with a touch of pepper. I really like the fragrance, however, it is not one of those perfumes that you can apply in the morning and still smell it at night. I have to reapply it throughout the day to maintain the smell, but on the grand scale of things that isn't really much trouble at all!

Ev_day

Pretty bottle.. Pretty scent.. I'm so in love with this parfume.. It is fresh, sweet but not overly sweet, calming fragrance. Top notes is white floral that i adore.. This is suitable for every occasion and a very safe scent for everyone..

scarlett.angel

Nice and pretty floral, but so delicate and soft. So soft... Disappears on me within 30 mins. Not full bottle worthy for me.

Ninuci

I really wanted to love this one (I love Valentino V and Very Valentino and both are hard to find and pricey). I tried Valentina few times, hoping to get "the connection" but it's not working for me. I find it too sweet, too creamy, and to me it lacks freshness to make it complete....

alchimia72

Absolutely amazed by this fragrance! I have been given by my dear friend and fragrantican Stregalietta. I fully appreciate this wonderful fragrance that I really wanted for a long time. It's the only fragrance with a berry note that I love. I find it so brilliant, delicious and enjoyable that I'm very happy to have it in my collection finally. Elegant, sweet, so gorgeous and lovely bottle! A bit gourmand, it remembers me a strawberry toffe! I have the desire to bite my wrists, it has the power to cheer me up. In two word a happy fragrance!

Mellyhelly

I must be in one of those days when I'm not in a mood for smell and strong noise.
I wanted to spray this one anyway. I tried it before a few times, but was never impressed. It's nice, pleasant, vanillic, modern and faint. The strawberry pops out but in a very tamed way and honestly fresh strawberries smell different. This is more of the typical "strawberry flavour".
Today I definetely decided that this is not for me, because basically it falls flat. It's a little powdery, it's feminine, not bad at all, but I cannot see the hype. It lasted about 4 hours, not bad, with very close sillage.
A pleasant scent, nothing special. I will test again in a few days.

sylviak

Although it's too sweet and powdery to me, seems not for my age, it's still an elegant and beautiful fragrance. The scent is pretty noble and delicate as the bottle appears. So that I'd very like to buy one for my dear Mommy.

LynnBarr

I found a gift set at Marshall's on clearance for only $44 so I blind-bought it after reading the reviews. I've been wearing stronger perfumes over the winter (Paloma, etc.) and am looking for something for spring. This is a really nice, delicate floral perfect for spring!
I kept sniffing my arm, wondering to myself "What smells so familiar about this?" Then I realized it is very close to Secret Wonderland by Bath & Body Works. That is not a bad thing, but I can't be the only person who noticed this, can I? I'm not getting any vanilla - mostly strawberry and white floral. I think it will be my signature spring scent, but I will spray it on my clothes because it sounds like it will last longer that way.

enigmaticessence

Pleasant and subtle. Slightly sweet.

Opens with a short blast of orange blossom, then blends so beautifully you can't pick out the notes so much as feel a warm, softly sweet amber. I believe the white truffle and strawberry contribute here to the indefinability. The white florals, cedar, and bergamot play an intertwining tune, but I smell very little vanilla.

I could hardly guess the notes listed without seeing them first. Many sweet roses might smell a little like the strawberry here, and there is also a mysterious, resinous glow about the base . The sweetness can be a bit piercing on me, but it is so cozy to be around.

Medium sillage and fair longevity.

risarii

A while ago, I ventured to Nordstom (my favorite fragrance sniffing place because the SAs are almost always crazy nice) to find a new perfume. I had one in mind, but the SA told me they didn't carry it because "it's much too old" (It's from the mid-to-late 90s. Well then, what about Chanel, Guerlains, etc? They're old enough to b a great-grandmother! I got annoyed by this remark, to be honest.) and showed me several other new fragrances, which I did not like. Then, she showed me this. I was expecting not to like it, but I must say that I was impressed! THIS is a light floral done right! Bravo, Valentino!

It's feminine, girly, light, beautiful. It brings to mind an Italian princess, frilly but not a shrinking violet. It's sophisticated without being prim and boring, girly without being childish and fresh without going to bathroom-cleaner territory. Really lovely. Nice silage, nice longevity. Valentino should put out more perfumes if they make some this nice!

natluvly

This one I got a sample of in a swap and didn't think it would be something I liked so it's been sitting in my room. I put this on at bedtime just now and it reminds me a little of Secret Wonderland from B&BW. Anyhoo this is pretty.

DIXIAO

I found it crazily similar to Nina by Nina Ricci.

Elisewin

Fragranza piacevole, leggermente cipriata, non troppo fiorita.

Allary

I have sampled most fragrances in the department store in the last 3 weeks, we're talking 100+ fragrances, and this is the one I finally bought, so what does that say?

Without going into the notes, I will tell you:
Fresh and somewhat sweet, yet not too floral, not too fruity, slightly sensual while still daytime appropriate, long lasting but not overpowering, womanly yet still youthful, elegant and luxurious, while still soft and lovely. This is all of those things. This fragrance makes me feel beautiful.

I just realized I pretty much summed up the description above without even reading it, yes, it is full of contradictions, but they work.

Lilithorvat

This is so gorgeously different from any other fragrance I have or have tried so far.
It has a lovely but unusual earthiness to it from the white truffle (tuber), very deep but light at the same time it's crazy. Almost ethereal...this was the fragrance that disappeared on me after applying then, 20 minutes later I was like "ooo what smells so heavenly..oh it's me!" lol

This has a creamy feel, as if it's relaxing but glamorous at the same time. Like lounging in a plush sofa but wearing a diamond dazzled ball gown. The bottle is sweet and feminine as well.

I smell the tuberose the most probably because my nose searches for it, it's my favorite white floral and I love it in combination with the truffle. Floral and earthy but also a tid bit gourmand sweet from the shy and innocent strawberry that is barely there, but enough to make this fragrance the most interesting, leaving you wanting more...so lovely. If you can get past having to apply it more often and the expensive price, this is definitely worth it.

5/5 fabulous ethereal earthy floral!

EternityFresh

This is creamy goodness! It's lasting power isn't the best on skin but on clothes you can definitely detect it all day. I don't mind reapplying this one at all because I find all the stages of this so comforting. I love the strawberry opening and that delicious vanilla and amber finish. A true delight!

kikinha

Let me save words and put it this way - this is heaven in a bottle. Pretty, classy, cozy fragrance. A classy sweet. I just grabbed a gift set at Marshalls today - blind buy for 59.99. What a steal!!!!! Im in love!

rooa

Valentina makes me think about a heavenly perfume, where all the ingredients are selected carefully in order to create a magic potion.
This magic smell will make everyone to do what you say, they will be simply hypnotised, like in the Patrik Süskind's novel - Perfume.

Each ingredient in this perfume is like the scent of a beautiful virgin that attracts men without even trying.

Valentina is a creamy, classy and seductive perfume that makes you want more, makes you greedy.
For a long time I thought it doesn't suit me but after buying the first bottle I am addicted!

ellina1984

Tuber (think Tom Ford Black Orchid tuber), some tart and sweet strawberries. Then jasmine and vanilla. A strawberry tart on a table set in a well-tended jasmine laced garden, the earth still damp from a recent shower.
Very elegant, very feminine. I think this would even work in the summer.

Jasmindee

This is absolutely beautiful.

I always appreciate nice packaging, and this is up there with some of my favorites. It's so, so pretty and looks so elegant. Much prettier in person.

Opening spray was this bright, sparkling strawberry laced with fresh bergamot. It's clean, feminine and fun.

The dry down is more elegant. Soft, calming vanilla with sexy amber. I get no tuber at all actually.

I really hope Santa is going to bring me this one, because it's absolutely gorgeous. It's LBD worthy, feminine, fun and classy all at once.

I love it!

MeThePerson

So many people don't have the patience for this fragrance and it is a real shame, to me it is so, so SO elegant and sophisticated. Not brusque or overbearing, just wonderfully sweet and soft. It has a strawberry note that I forget exists until I think of an exquisitely light and airy fruit fool or mousse, ultimately decadent but light enough to crave ever more! Feminine And lady-licious!

missafrica

Gorgeous, sexy and very sophisticated! I had better be going somewhere really special and classy for me to spritz this little beauty, that's for sure - oozes sensuality - how I wouldn't LOVE a red Valentino gown... that would definitely complete the picture!!

Prettynightmary

I think Valentina is very classy and elegant scent. But not in a boring way. It has a young and free spirited side to it. A mixed bouquet of white flowers, clean, white luxurious linens, strawberries and white chocolate comes to my mind. Soft and feminine. I love it.

Niya

Smells very generic and perfume-y; some spice or patchouli would do this a universe of good.

Nmsekhmet

this is to strawberry what angel is to chocolate. hmmmmm.........

wind83

I loved the bottle, but i think in my body only detect tuberose and strawberry, the floral is None, i cant smell it. its very sweet perfume, but not last just for 2-3 hours.

6.5/10

magnus-poa

Very nice and light floral but... only lasts 2 hours. A shame.

Kristabelle

I really love this but it only lasts about two hours on me. I only get a very faint whiff throughout the day.

Tovah

I love this fragrance, and I adore the charming bottle. I find this fragrance to be beautiful, unusual and distinctive. The initial blast is an acetic burst of bergamot, tuberose and jasmine, but within seconds a woody sweetness mutes the sharp tones from the white florals. The indoles melt into the muskiness of truffles, and then re-emerge, in balance with effervescent citrus and piquant strawberry. After about 20 minutes Valentina develops into a distinguishable, charming work, that is both luxurious and swank.

Valentina is absolutely a "get stopped in the street" fragrance, with marvelous longevity, and conspicuous sillage. Be careful not to to overspray...this one is not for fans of insipid, assembly-line perfumes.

Something in this calls to mind Hugo Boss Deep Red...must be the tuberose-vanilla mix.

LisaMari

The opening is clean, dry, and earthy with a pleasant hint of sweet wild strawberry. Then it dries down sickly sweet and rather generic - like a little girls perfume.. way too sweet.

IndiaMcCormic

kosmoskukka and windhill, thank you so much for your advice! I've bought this perfum recently and I'm so happy! The smell is magical. I feel wild strawberry and truffle. The base is just gorgeous! I'm not sure about longevity though. I feel it for 5-6 hours every time I move. But I've only used it a couple times. To be honest, I spare this fragrance because I'm afraid of getting tired of it))))

windhill

@IndiaMcCormic Yes, If you love it go for it. I suggest you to spray Valentina on cloth though. It has much greater staying power on fabric.

kosmoskukka

Indi...
go for it. It lasts on me about 6 hours. On heat of course less... but on warm summer days I boost it up with Valentina body cream...
Valentina is very romantic and happy hearted Lady. I also love her :)

IndiaMcCormic

I fell for this fragrance the moment I tested it on me wrist. I can't even sleep - I want to have "Valentina" so much. After I read the comments about this parfum I found out that some people say it is not long lasting. If so, I don't want to buy it. I love long lasting scents. The owners of this beautiful thing, what would you tell me? Help! I'm desperate(((((((((

victoria.mei1992

Like grass and patchouli, warm and very little sweet. Not my type of fragrance. Linear smell, all time the same notes, smell don't change in whole day.

mooglebuns

My skin really amps up the white flowers in this. I don't get strawberries or vanilla or cedar or anything aside from jasmine and orange blossoms.

It starts out very strong, almost headache inducing, for the first few minutes, but it softens very quickly.

It's pretty. Not really for me. It's not very inspiring or challenging, in my opinion. Just soft white florals.

There are other white floral perfumes that far surpass this for me, so it's not going to find a forever home in my wardrobe.

silsilg2

Please someone advise you that this perfume Valentino is beautiful when you put it, but after half an hour not smell anything. My daughter's name is Valentina and when went on sale this perfume ran to buy it and she stayed very disappointed by low duration and no sillage.

mp2491

It is a wonderful scent and though it is not the same, it reminds me of L'air de Nina Ricci (which now seems to be discontinued in my area and makes me super sad!) But anyway, it is floral, sweet, and has a little hint of a woodsy base note to it once it settles in. The sweetness is not overwhelming to me.
However, it has no lasting power on my skin. I can't smell it after 1 hr and the only place that it actually lasts for a decent time is when i spray it in my hair.
I am still debating on whether I want to buy the full size. If anyone knows a perfume that's similar to L'air de Nina Ricci, please let me know!!!

pi^2

It is very nice, but the strawberry makes it a bit too sweet for me. For an orange blossom lover like me it was hard to decide to skip this one, but I ended up buying the Assoluto version instead, which is more of an evening fragrance. This one is ligher and sweeter and more of a daytime perfume. The bottle is lovely.

junebiswas

I really like this fragrance, but as many others have also mentioned, it has absolutely no staying power. On my skin, the fragrance is gone in less than half an hour! I've used my sample on multiple occasions and the same has always happened. Doesn't work with my body chemistry. Try before you buy

perfumeaddiction

A very beautiful and safe fragrance. Let's start off with that bottle. Very cute and I love the flowers. Bottle shape great and easy to hold and spray - I also love the sprayer itself.

Now on to the scent. Valentina smells so light and feminine. I get musk for sure in this mixure. If you are not a musk fan I don't know if you would enjoy this one. I don't see musk in the notes but to me I swear I smell it. The floral composition is gorgeous without being over the top flowery. I think this fragrance can be worn both night and day comfortably. Definitely a non offensive smooth fragrance that would make a lovely edition to any womans collection.

I will report later on the longevity of the perfume as I just sprayed it.
UPDATE: I sprayed this gem on at around noon and it is about 6 hours later. On the skin it still smells lovely - lite but still present. I got wiffs of it outside in the humidity and it smelled gorgeous!

venclips

Well, from the first spray I smell a strong rootbeer slightly sweet. That's makes me quite surprise because this is not my expectation. I think it's gonna be soft but it's quite strong from the first spray! A few minutes later it's became sweet vanilla that you usually smell it somewhere. For me valentina is too simple, I didn't smell any floral notes. I clasified this to gourmand fragrance. Though I like floral fragrance, I don't hate this. It's just not for me because it's too sweet for my taste.
Staying power moderate on my skin about 6 hours.

Vanie2784

Its simple, just don't like it. I don't know what it is but not good. Beautiful bottle though. So glad it was only a sample, and I even gave that away.

Saneko

At first the smell is really strong but then transforms into something smooth sweet with a hint of a male perfume. Definitely a scent for winter I fell in love with it and it took me by surprise.

Siv7Stars

A bit like earl grey tea at first, (that'll be the bergamot then) then very mild fruit with vanilla, warm but quite clean. Jasmine flits about elusively. No sillage and generally unremarkable. Bottle didn't need the silly black sphere on top.

mademoiselle04

Valentina is a gorgeous scent in a gorgeous bottle. It is a great day wear scent. I usually don't like jasmine because it can be very overwhelming, but in this case it is perfectly balanced with vanilla and strawberry. When I use it I feel fresh, classy, and femenine. I only wish it would have more sillage.

babykays

i love white floral, jasmine and vanilla fragrances.
this is something that i keep recommend to my customers. it is feminine, sexy, classy, and mysterious. love ittt.

Emiserraelli

in me it smells just like Nina by Nina Ricci. Someone thik the same way as me?

harini_20

Received this from my hubby today... Lovely bottle!!!! Smell reminds me of viva la juicy perfume!!!! A sophisticated version!!!!! But nice fragrance...gud longitivity!!!!

Lily2911

If you don't like that "sour" scent coming from the strawberry which can be quite dominant for certain skin chemistries like mine, layer it with something more floral/woody like EL 's Sensuous Nude. I tried this today and it worked and it improved the poor longevity. Worth to try !

canadianpetite

Definitely a must try on your skin. It smelled much nicer on the spray nozzle than it did on my skin. On the bottle, it smelled of orange blossoms, jasmine and tubers with vanilla. On me it smelled like that for the first 20 minutes then it changed to low-grade orange blossom and some plasticky-headache-inducing sweetener for the next hour. It completely disappeared after two hours. I guess I expected more from such a fashion house. I returned the bottle and exchanged for Elie Saab.

One spray on me,
Sillage: 6 inches
Longevity: 30 minutes
Rating: 0 for longevity and 3 for scent within first 30 minutes

zperr

Very nice fragrance, elegant and well balanced smell, i feel wonderful when i wear it, and i am receiving lots of compliments just in first 5or10 minutes after applying, and then nobody can detect anything. İt has a very poor sillage and weak longevity. If it would have a long projection it is probably the best on the market among recently created perfumes. But maybe it is just a skin problem this can stay longer on someone else. Just give it a try !!!

imawallflower

Sillage on me is close to the skin... Even right after applying it I have trouble smelling it, so I rather apply a lot on clothes and little on the skin since on the skin it fades away quick: The only NO for me. I wish it was stronger.

lauren.gonzalez.963

I got this as a sample in a swap and I love the scent in the first 30 mins of applying it, but saldy on me it dwindles down to just some flat sandalwood. I detect no jasmine. Later on i put my sweater on which had some of the fragrance on it and i caught the scent of that I had loved at first spritz which was very light floral and juicy fruity. Its alright, but if it had stayed the same scent throughout, Id HAVE to go run out and buy it.

Allinug

I thought I would like it but it is to much of jasmin smell on me...I don't mind jasmin in perfumes but not like this.

StellaDiverFlynn

Valentina opens like a strawberry and citrus flavoured hard candy, kind of like the berry flavoured candy in Viva La Juicy. The strawberry note is really persistent on me, as it's very prominent for hours and hours, even the white flowers emerging from the heart of the fragrance, seem like supporting roles in this case. I'm unable to discern these floral notes, to me altogether they form a vague cluster of clean white flower scent. And I'm starting to seeing the point of leaving some indoles or 'dirtiness' in a white flower scent, even it's meant to be a relatively clean and pure white flower scent, as in Valentina, or in CK Downtown, or Viva La Juicy, these floral notes are so clean that they become blurred.

The far drydown of Valentina is the most pleasant part to me. It's smoothened with a nice touch of vanilla, and the candy-like strawberry note is significantly subdued. But still, this part is not outstanding enough for me to go through the strawberry candy phase again.

The sillage of Valentina is relatively soft, but lasts more than 12 hours on me. Although I'm not very fond of the strawberry candy and the too-clean white flower aspects of Valentina, I'd still recommend it to those who enjoyed Viva La Juicy or CK Downtown, as a smoother version of this type of fruity candy-clean flower scents.

cecilia.thorn.56

Valentina starts off with a rather strong blast of bergamot, although it is much more noticeable on paper than on skin. The second note is the white truffle (tuber in fragrantica) that comes in rather strongly on my skin and is making Valentina very interesting ( but not 'fresh' since this note is very earthy and a bit animalic). There is also a tinge of strawberry, a little sweetness, but Valentina is not overtly sweet on me. It is soft in terms of sillage and hence stays fairly close to the skin. In the middle phase, the white flowers appear. The tuberose is very soft in Valentina. Valentina rests on a base of soft vanilla mixed with the earthy white truffles and a touch of amber. On my skin, Valentina is a floral oriental as classified. It is not a 'fresh' out of the shower fragrance but more a soft, earthy/warm and sexy, but subtle fragrance, unlike many other fragrances in this category. I do tend to sometimes 'crave' it and it has a permanent place in my fragrance collection. To sum up; Valentina is a great choice if you are looking for a versatile, sophisticated, classy but sexy fragrance that can take you from day to night.

цветана.петрова

Valentina is a nice everyday scient.I like it.The bottle is very beautiful.I would buy it again.

ScarlettX

Very white floral and for me the amber is very intensive.
It's sweet, sharp and clean at the same time. Complicated composition.
The clean freshness comes from bergamot, the sweetness from vanilla and sharp bitterness from the mixture of amber and jasmine. I can't smell strawberry, probably because there are so many things there, my nose just gets confused.
Not a delicate perfume, more like a strong one.
Suitable for every age.
Personally I am annoyed by the composition of amber and jasmine in this one.

brianaaaah

*My skin tends to cling on to and respond best to floral/sweet scents*

For me, this is a soft, slightly sweet jasmine fragrance. I actually can't detect most of the notes and I'm left with only jasmine, vanilla and cedar which I like. I find some jasmine fragrances to be really serious (best way I can describe it) while this is pleasant and inviting. It has enough floral notes to grab your attention and just the right amount of sweetness for comfort.

The jasmine is present immediately and stays present. There is no detection of bergamot anywhere. The top notes last for about a minute before the tuberose kicks in in the heart. After about 10 minutes the jasmine is left to create a beautiful mixture with the vanilla and cedar once it has completely dried down. There is some sweetness but it isn't cloying or sickly at all.

Absolutely love the fragrance. Cannot wait to add it to my collection!

LaUna

Thick white floral, with jasmine and tuberose, rose, musk and amber.
Tuberose and amber intense.
I find it heavy-ish for my taste, however my sister wears this day and night. Whole house smells like it.
It is elegant, grown up scent.

kelli.marie

This smells like something from my childhood that I cannot pinpoint. Something a grandmother kept in her purse? A toy from my kindergarten class? It is quite sweet and floral but there is something transparently seductive and sexy about the sweetness. It is different from other florals in an earthy, creamy way. I would never pick this bottle out from a lineup, but there is something special about this fragrance...
