I blind bought this because it was discounted, I couldn't find a sample and the notes looked like a good match for me. It's not bad but it does confuse me for the first 30 minutes. There is a note I can't identify looking at notes listed here and in product description. It's a very strange almost plastic smell I really dont likebthat is very loud and seperate and doesn't fit in at all. After 30 minutes it fades and I start to smell the woody note so maybe it's that wood note blowing up into something weird at first. Then, it turns into an artificial sweet and powdery-creamy connamon vanilla. It smells almost exactly like a powdered creamer my MIL uses, a powdered milk artificially flavored with vanilla and a little cinnamon. It's not a bad smell. It makes me also think of the winter holidays and sweet powdered sugar vanilla frosting. The vanilla is very strong on me, the woods and are light and slightly spicy like cinnamon and the pear is just a high sweetness like powdered sugar. The orange is kind of merging with the amber in the dry down and it starts to smell a little like orange cinnamon rolls with vanilla icing. I like it more after about 90 minutes. I bought it for winter but I'd like to try it in warmer weather and see if the orange and woods project a little more. Overall not bad though the first 30 minutes are strange.

A very sweet woody pear. Kind of overrated, I guess it's because of the lack of availability now

viktorijavla

It's the last time I'm buying something based on perfume influenster's recommendations. Thank goodness it was very inexpensive.

It starts with quite an animalic white floral note. After around 20 minutes, it begins to resemble CH Good Girl.

All in all, it's very generic and not worth pursuing. Just get Good Girl if you want something similar.

karlee79

This does not smell like good girl at all, maybe a tad bit. But it's very oily ....like think mancera roses and chocolate......it's lovley and super potent. I can see why this is all thr rage, I'm so happy I splurged and took Gabbys advice .

terigurl

I've had Gemma for 2 years and I probably wore her once or twice. For me it was just okay and didn't wow me. A few days ago, when choosing my work fragrance; I was running late and chose Gemma and hunnie!!! I was so impressed with my scent bubble. I wore it again today and this scent has really grown on me. It's soft, sweet, woody and has a creaminess to it. It's non offensive for the workplace. It's still winter here but the weather is starting to warm up. I'm looking forward to trying this in warmer weather.

Aisha007

Something in the top notes of this fragrance irritates me. Same thing that my nose picks in Chanel chance! Settles very well after about 30 minutes...just like chance!

SheRays

Very woody- gives off a vintage basement smell. I really wanted to love this given the exquisite bottle, but I'm not sure I'll be reaching for this much... I don't hate it but I wish it were more of an aquatic vanilla smell.

EDIT: So I wore this to lunch with a friend and she could not stop taking about this scent. It actually projects better in the outside air...idk something was different. I kept getting subtle whiffs the entire day. I must say I'm glad I decided to "WEAR" this one and not just base it off a spray on the wrist in the house. It gradually turned more warm and sweet on my clothes. Quite a pleasant SURPRISE!

Barbarossa

Pear candy with dry down of good girl (that I truly hate) but sweeter and sharper.
My second favorite fragrance.
Very long lasting and just delicious. The best blind buy everrrrr

Bondno9girl

Gemma is not a heavy scent. Its lighter than good girl and coach dreams sunset. I actually sold coach dreams sunset because it had a masculine dry down. Good girl is perfection for night time and gemma is more fresh for day time. I think its worth owning good girl and gemma but coach dreams sunset was nothing special. Pear ice cream note where? Don't overpay for gemma though, get it on fragrancenet right now for a reasonable price.

Msdarce

This fragrance is discontinued and finding a sample or decant is rare. I blind bought this based on notes and reviews. I enjoy pear notes. I enjoy this fragrance, but hear me out. I don't recommend blind buying this. I know some are feeling FOMO. I would suggest smelling Coach Sunset Dreams or CH GG Legre (I own both). These have very similar vibes, I think the Coach one is closer, it has a pear ice cream note. So if you own the Coach one, do you really need Gemma? I say no, they are so much alike. I was lucky to find Gemma at a reasonable price, where currently it is being sold second hand at high prices, whereas you can get Coach Sunset Dreams at a reasonable price. This is not a negative review again this is a beautiful fragrance.

ScentBliss555

There is a critical review by a husband down below that hated this perfume. I never imagined I would have the same visceral reaction. There is a note in here that is relentless and makes this beyond unwearable to me. Sad because it's typical for these disruptive notes to fade but it doesn't die down in this perfume. Hopefully it was a bad batch. Hard Pass.

I purchased I Want Choo, instead. Same sharp beginning but turns into everything I was hoping Gemma di Paradiso would be.

mangokaitlyn23

Does anyone know where we can buy this??? Im dying to try it! Im from Canada.

jfalzon2861

All I can say that this is a perfume that I will definitely buy again, again and again. I must also add that pear notes really suit me well as all perfumes that I own with pear notes, I always got complemented on.

Kurama

One 30 ml bottle later, I have finally formed an opinion about this. In the cold season I wasn't sure about it, and I believe it truly develops in warmer weather. It needs some sun for that pear to be detactable. Will all that said, this is a very synthetic fragrance. I can see why it pleases so many people. There is a very sweet pear in there, vanilla, and some woddy notes that are supposed to make it not turn too juvenile. But all too damn synthetic. Gemma di Paradiso is like a kitschy copy of an original idea, including the packaging. I won't be rebuying this.

aureads

I have all the gemma di paradiso and I can say this one is my favorite! They all are perfect and have their own identity, Roberto Cavalli always impress me with his perfumes. The quality is extremely good for the price!

Jenelynn

Wear occasionally layered with bum bum lotion cream.. They smell great together

princesslopez4890

This to me is very sweet but subtle & calming. Long lasting I wore it to bed & 8hrs later I was still smelling it as if I had just sprayed it. Beyond reasonably priced. I also own good girl and I’m not getting the similarities at all two very different fragrances imo.

WifeyPink

Smells just like Good Girl to my nose.. unfortunately I was unaware of the comparison b4 I blind bought this. This perfume and Good Girl are just okay to me. I'm not Wowd by them. I only looked up the notes for this, lesson learned to check what ppl compare it to next time I blind buy. It does have great longevity though. Hope this helps someone.

Miss_Nathalie

YouTube made me buy this one since it got so hyped up...and...I did not like it. I gave it away to a friend since I could not like it all on me. There is a note in this one that really made my tummy turn.

Cess268

This is a love @ first sniff for me.Quickly became one of my top 5. This pear vanilla fragrance is perfect for the cooler weather, and i can see wearing this in some warmer months as well. And even though it may vibe the same as LaBelle, they are very different. The performance & longevity are stellar, 3 sprays and it lasts til next day on my skin. I don't get the comparison to Casablanca but its worth having all 3 IMO.

Oxannabelle

I do have CH Good Girl, and I would agree that it has some similarities, but it's not a dupe. To me this one I is more powdery and sharp. Watching on youtube someone stated that this one is more well blended, but for me, I do prefer Good Girl over this one.

Layla Vu

I got so hyped up by all the reviews and the fact that this is discontinued so I decided to blind buy. The first thing that hit me when I sprayed this on was "I smell like a car", same vibe like the little trees people hang in their cars to make them smell "nice", and it gives me headache. To me it smells vintage, like something I would smell on peole when I was a little kid. I am a big fan of CH good girl and I do see a similarity in the dry down, but Good Girl is much more modern and refined.

But my bf seems to like it though. Sadly I cant bring myself to wear it anymore coz I cant shake the old school vibe.

AlexandraTroush

I put on 3 sprays of this at 8 in the morning, got home at 17, and got numerous compliments from my husband on this "amazing beautiful perfume". The only other perfume he has ever liked on me is For Her EDT (NR), so to say I'm surprised is an understatement. I definitely wouldn't put them in the same category, or even class (as in, how refined the fragrance is, how well-blended it is and so on). I don't even like this perfume all too much, I was actually giving it a last chance today, to see how I like it in colder weather. Now I'm a bit torn. I don't like wearing perfumes that I'm not 100% excited to wear, but I also like getting compliments on my perfume from my husband. :)

Edit: my husband now uses it himself. I really don't enjoy this scent on myself, but on HIM it smells divine.

milen78

I am a men ,My wife have this ,and i told her to throw it away .its bring me a massive headache ,smells really bad!there is a note that i cant take .very cold smell with metallic vibe.i dont like it at all!

Dulcette91

I found this fragrance on Youtube and absent-mindedly tested it one day. It lasted days on a paper strip and smelled so complex and beautiful, I couldn't forget it. Finally bought a bottle and was a little disappointed it was quite a bit simpler on my skin - still sexy, sweet and long-lasting, but less unique. BUT... I'm actually amazed at what a compliment getter this fragrance is. I live in a conservative country and I've worn this 4 times now - every single time I was asked at least once what I was wearing! Today a complete stranger told me I smelled 'unforgettable' and she couldn't forgive herself if she didn't ask what I was wearing! I'm honestly shocked because this never happens to me... but this mix of woody vanilla, pear, citrus, creamy jasmine and warm amber just works. I recommend it, one of my new favorites. Sillage and longevity are incredible.

naja.z99

Amazing fragrance, good signature scent, appropriate for any time of the year/day and for any occasion. Niche quality for an affordable price. The longevity is good, but the sillage not as much - moderate at best

rebs777

Such a great scent! I blind bought it today and it was love at first sniff...I'm mad I didn't know about this gem, youtube made me buy it :)))It's long lasting, pretty good sillage and great price value!!

GiBaby

This is such an alluring and sexy fragrance. It is perfectly sweet, without it being super dense or cloying in any way. The silliage is beautiful and you will be enveloped in a nice scent bubble for the first few hours and periodically throughout its wear you will still get wafts as well. This was a love at first sniff for me.

Scent: 8.5/10
Longevity: 7.5/10 (about 6 hours)
Projection/silliage: 8/10

AlexandraTroush

Honestly, this smells very cheap. This could have easily been some celebrity perfume, and that would probably be my first guess as to what this is if I had to blindly smell it. I don't necessarily mean the scent profile, I'm thinking about the blending and the overall edges of this perfume. It just seems like a very unprofessionally made fragrance.

I LOVE the original Paradiso and Paradiso Azzurro (haven't tried Assoluto yet), but Gemma has nothing to do with those, they have absolutely nothing in common. I'll probably force myself to wear it several more times just to make sure that I'm really not excited about it, but if my opinion stays unchanged I'll give it away to a friend who might like it better.

To be fair though, I didn't like Good Girl either, but the comments here convinced me that they're far enough from one another to appreciate this one for what it is. I wouldn't say that Gemma is a dupe for Good Girl, but they're definitely in the same family.

VioletOrchid

It’s a snack for your olfaction! Perfume dessert 🍨
Reminds me of vanilla ice cream but in a really really good way.
Beautifully made gourmand and I hate gourmand scents.
This is everything I hoped hypnotic poison would be.

Amour, Michele

I think this one needs to be sprayed on skin. This one smells very different on skin compared to on clothes. It's a lot sweeter, fruitier on skin and seems to accentuate the top notes when sprayed on skin. The beginning has quite a strong alcohol stage then moves on to the top notes with the sweet pear note. I do see the comparison with Good Girl now it's on skin, but I'm not sure it's a dupe or anything like that. I think people sometimes say X smells like Y, because that's the extent of their perfume/scent memory. The wafts you get does have the same vibe, but when you smell closer, this is woodier. I like it a lot more on skin. Longevity is actually very good now that I've sprayed on the skin - I sprayed it on before bed and it was going strong still in the morning. It's a very pretty scent that has a bit of an edge with the prominent wood. The wood is a good balance between something cedar-y and sandalwood-like with a bit of spice. I bought a pretty enormous bottle for quite cheap and it's not mind-blowing but I can see this an easy pick on days when I have no idea what to wear. Not bad!

katheryne_art

This perfume was a bit too masculine for my taste and also quite aquatic. I actually really liked it on my boyfriend! However, I am trying it now again (when my skin is warmer) and I like it more. It also seems warmer and more tropical rather than aquatic, like it would have some ylang ylang, cause it reminds me a bit of the M. Micallef-Ylang in Gold. To me, this is a very beautiful, complex, sweet scent that will be beautiful in the summer!

carrico1986

Who doesn't love vanilla?? Especially a sultry, amber-infused vanilla. This smells unique. I've had my fair share of vanilla perfumes but this one smells totally different. It easily lasts 7-8 hours as well, which is odd for me, since my skin seems to devour scents.
This scent does indeed remind me of driving along the coastline in Italy as the sun is setting and the salty scent of seawater hangs in the air. It is a vacation in a bottle. If you love vanilla, buy this! If you love vacations, buy this! If you love amber, buy this! I just ordered paradiso azzuro, since I love gemma and the original paradiso and I will definitely be getting the Assoluto one in the near future as well!

CdeBXL

Sue me, I am a fan of this series.

They are not only presented in gorgeous bottles, but they all are, imo, worthy additions in any wardrobe.
As to GdP: such a lovely pear- vanilla. With a certain gourmand flair, but zesty enough not to fall in the sugar trap.
Also: nice wood and amber to ground it. And finally, I get lofty aquatic somewhere in there too!

This is a feet in the ground, body in the orchard, head in the air type of scent.
A really nice one, and my fave in the Paradiso series.

phanycout07

LOVE this fragrance. One of my favourites 🥰.
Beautiful amber with a woody vanilla is what I mostly get. The first spray, I get the pear which makes the fragrance sweet but not too sweet. I find it also sexy because of the amber.
Good longevity and sillage. One of my most complimented fragrance.

FancyM

I’m definitely getting CH Good Girl vibes with this scent. I’m not a big fan of CH. I’m not a big fan of this fragrance either. The initial spray comes off cheap, very alcohol like. There is a weird rotten grape scent in the opening that lingers for a while. The dry down is a nice woody powdery scent. This perfume is ok... I wouldn’t spend over $20 for it.

Schnupperl

To be honest, I was a bit scared of this fragrance: D.
I once tested JPG's La Belle and was curious about a vanilla and pear combination.
Phew, I find them terrible in La Belle.
Extremely cute, extremely sticky, extremely too much (at least for me).
No, the scent doesn't work for me.
Gemma di Paradiso still made me curious because it should also be suitable for the summer.
Since I'm currently looking for summer fragrances, I ordered a small sample.
I started spraying and thought, "Oh god, hopefully not as sticky as La Belle.
I sprayed 2x, stepped out of the cloud and waited a few seconds.
The first nose .... oh my god ...
A wonderful combination of vanilla and pear.
In this fragrance, I find this combination sweet, but not sticky.
It is harmonious, soft and not overwhelming.
First sniff and i'm in love :D.
The course of the fragrance is not particularly large.
It changes a little, but not very much.
Once the fragrance has developed, it is even more beautiful than at the beginning: A wonderful and harmonious vanilla-pear combination, sweet (but not as extreme as with La Belle), slightly woody, delicately creamy, slightly aquatic touch and everything is accompanied by a light and gently warming amber note.
Everything is perfectly blended here.
This scent melts really nicely with the skin.
My God, he's just heavenly.

I think the durability is good on my skin.
I notice it around 6-7.

I think Gemma di Paradiso is great in winter, but I'm sure that it will also be a gem in spring and summer.

SmellingEurope

To me this one has a pool or spa smell. Synthetic fruity with woods and vanilla. I get why the bottle design is a bit "aquatic". I'd say it's okay for the price, nothing special or complex though.

LawmaLlama

I don't agree that this is a CH Good Girl or Legere dupe. This stands on its own with better longevity and projection, plus it has some added intriguing notes. This fragrance is so much better and can be a fall or winter, day or night, signature scent. It is sexy and special.

Ashlowery14

I am getting major Carolina Herrera Good Girl vibes from this. I would go as far to say this is a 90% dupe for Good Girl. I don’t agree with the fact that vanilla is listed as the most dominant note. I find this very powdery and floral, like tuberose is very dominant in this to me along with something powdery. If you have Good Girl already I would pass on this unless you wanted something to replace it with.

JaxsO

What a pleasant surprise this perfume was. I live in Miami and of course we have the same hot weather all year round. I find this to work perfect with my body chemistry in the hot summer nights. I haven't tested this in the fall/winter but I will be going back home for the holidays and it gets cold there so im excited to try it out. IMO this is the most perfect sweet/woody/exotic/sensual scent for the summer. The performance on me is a 10 (but that varies on peoples body chemistry) I can smell it on me all night. Im so happy I found this gem oh and of course lets not forget the Beautiful bottle. I got the 1.7oz im regretting not buying the bigger bottle.

Anna Pantherina

I love Cavalli perfumes. I'm not a typical Cavalli girl, but I like wild tits - cats and snakes, and sometimes I like a little field design on me :)) I've tried a lot of them, I've had a lot. They are mostly wild, elusive, self-denying and juicy. they love you- they love you. They catch you in a python's embrace and don't let go. This Gemma caught me like that. God, I tried to resist that grip ... I couldn't resist.
It is very specific and moves along the edge, wiggles and swings between chic, classic and kitsch.
I like it, I really like the way those notes are arranged on me. I feel a bit like Amazon, I have those Amazon notes, green, moist, woody, bloody floral, ozone. And fruits that I don't even know exist. , that somewhere there, in the twilight of the rainforest, it smells like that.
Performance for 10.I enjoy the green cloud.
Bravissimo s.Cavalli
The girls say that it resembles the heel of CH. Yes, at the beginning, although later it resembles the combination of GG Legere and Laguna S. Dali. She is still her own

samantham-123

Well, I just sold this; hopefully it's to someone with the right body chemistry who can use and enjoy it.
All the comparisons to black opium, I was expecting a sweet creamy well rounded vanilla floral; which it actually is for the first half an hour or so. But then once it's dried, at about the 30 or 40 minute mark, it takes a weird turn.( sigh) It opened with such promise.. But it becomes..I don't even know how to describe it. It's almost as if it's trying to be gourmand and aromatic at the same time but ends up being neither. It needs either a dark woody note to give it a dense dark base, or a sweet note like caramel or chocolate to make it a gourmand, but it just kind of hangs in the middle and feels hollow and unfinished.

But, the lasting power on this is goddam amazing so if u do enjoy this; there's no problem with that. Unless it's just because I dislike it that it seems to cling to my nose.
Most frags will fade initially and then u get little pleasant whafts through the wear like " Yes I'm still here" but this is just IN. My. Face the whole time. And I just can't seem to enjoy it so..a failed blind buy but you know, if we choose to take the blind buy risk then we must accept our failures I spose lol

hypnoteyes_28

I just bought a 30 ml bottle of this today for $19.99, and thank goodness it was inexpensive because I don’t like it at all. To me it smells almost identical to Casablanca by Swiss Arabian which I sent back immediately due to the sickeningly sweet apple note. And I’m guessing it’s the pear and vanilla in Gemma that smells like Casablanca. So unfortunately this is a fail for me, but I would like to try Paradiso Assoluto, it sounds a more my taste 😊.

Palmer Eldritch

Alright fragranticans please disregard my previous comment if you've seen it.
This is no longer love at first sniff for me. The more I wore it the more I disliked it.

It's a simple fragrance that is just a soup of notes, with
absolutely nothing distinguishable. It's just.....linear sweetness. It's not a fruity, fresh vanilla...just a linear SWEET for hours. From first spray! As it dries down it's STILL completely linear, and the ''woodsy notes'' are not distinguishable or apparent.
Gemma di Paradiso is not sexy, irresistible or classy. Rather it has a fabric softener quality to it with no creaminess. The Vanilla EDT from The Body Shop is better!

The silage and longevity are pretty good: around 9+ hours on my skin. Also as someone who admires Good Girl, this smells NOTHING like it.

Unbearably generic and smells so much cheaper than it is. I wouldn't even wear this to work. My favourite scents as a teen were always from Cavalli, and I'm sad that this is what they dropped down to. Sorry folks, this is a HUGE no from me.

emi

This is slightly sweeter version of Laguna by Salvador Dali. That fruity marine woody vanilla. Fresh and sweet at the same time.

imgeaslan

First of all this bottle is beyond beautiful 💕
And the scent is gorgeous! It's so smooth, feminine and striking.
If you have used Gloria by Cacharel before, try this one :) This is like softer version of Gloria and I'm in love!
I can say "beachy floral" for this. It works in colder weather for sure but also suitable for summer nights.
Longevity and sillage is sooo good

fonty_o

This is beautiful. Sweet vanilla, creamy with a beautiful juicy tang in the opening. The notes listed here say that the tang is orange. I can smell the orange, but it is very faint. Whatever sour-ish molecule or note they have used to replicate orange just comes across as a 'citrus' scent. It's not just orange, it's just 'citrus'.

The dry down is where this gets interesting.
I have tried this perfume over a week (worn 3 times) and I just sprayed it an hour ago for this review.

As you see above, that is my description of the opening. But now, 80 minutes later, it smells so similar to Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream. The last few times I wore it, I was like, "Oooh I smell like Bum Bum Cream!".
If you don't know what that is, it's a delicious sweet, milky, creamy caramel nutty scent.

This is a bit more fruity. But it has that Sol de Janeiro Brazillian Crush vibe.

Don't buy it at full price! Buy it at discounters. If you love vanilla beachy vibes, get it. 🥰

Jacquis

First off, yes. I agree with the reviewer below that Gemma di Paradiso smells similar to the CH Good Girl line. You would not need both. Gemma is a beautiful, sexy, semi sweet and (initially) sparkling perfume. This can be worn all year at any age. Not overly sexy and suitable for any occasion. I collected all the Paradiso line and found that the initial burst is similar in all 4 but they diverge into their own character after the first 10 mins. On my skin, Gemma is the least unique but still a beautiful perfume. I must say, it lasts greater than 12 hrs and projects much more than GG. In terms of uniqueness, I would rate Azzuro first, followed by the original Paradiso then Assoluto and finally Gemma. A worthy collection and all easy to wear.

EDIT: Wearing this in 75F low humidity weather. Gemma is magnificent in this temp. More rounded with that sweet vanilla and maybe cocoa?

Jasmindee

Unique, dreamy and magical.

Can I just say that this bottle satisfied all of my mermaid dreams? It definitely goes into the top 10 most beautiful bottles I own. It's a beautiful jade green to clear ombre with a stunning heavy crystal lid. It's just DIVINE. The box and packaging was also a solid 10/10 from me.

Opening spray is fresh pear, soft vanilla and something a little masculine. (Must be the woodsy notes.) Then the Jasmine stamps her feet and demands to be noticed, taking center stage for a while before letting someone else have the limelight. Amber, a hint of bitter orange and charming vanilla on the drydown makes this a wrist sniffer for sure.

I'm going to be controversial and say this *IS* a Summer scent. Maybe a hazy evening perfume. Going out for a nice dinner with your beloved on holiday, or for cocktails with the girls with glowing skin, high heels and gold jewellery, laughing and watching the sunset from your table outside.

I am thrilled with my blind buy. I managed to get 75ml for £34.40 from Perfume Click, and I would have paid so much more.

EDIT: Been told I smell amazing by two different people on day #1 of wearing it. One of my friends told me to write down what I was wearing as she loved it so much!

Giusybalis

Naomie

For first spray it was amazing but same as la belle from GPG this one came upon me very soon, it made me sick and I had to have a shower to get rid of this smell, my stomach can not stand it it’s sickeningly sweet and it’s not for me at all! Gave it to a friend she is delighted with it!

IMadeleine

I have Paradiso Azzuro and today I got the Gemma di Paradiso....all I must say is: I like waaaaay more Gemma di Paradiso. It is a sweeter version of Azzuro. I smell some Vanilla. It has a cozy smell. I would wear it this summer. In my opinion is is for all seasons! It is not too strong. I like it and I found it for a good deal.

darbyki18

I heard great reviews about this and it smells just like CH Good Girl Legere to me.

ladypicky

Amber + Pear = My magic potion

Rounded Beautiful Summery vibe

I really like it.

If you like easy fruity sparkly perfumes that are not too sweet this could be the one.

It lacks a bit of spice for me which I can solve the issue with layering.( maybe a white Musk ? or Cardamon )

Mmdp247

Such an underrated fragrance! Once it settles on my skin it turns to magic and the longevity is nothing to be sniffed at either. Definitely get an almost salted caramel vibe mixed with delicious vanilla coming through.

hunk143

I got it for my wife as a blind buy and it turned out to be one of the best fragrances i’ve gifted her. The sillage is amazing and it is insanely long lasting.
The opening notes maybe strong but the dry down is sweet and light. It’s so good the whole day. I can’t get enough of her when she’s wearing this.

Zlatina.Tomova

I have never gravitated towards Cavalli perfumes until the moment I had to ask one beautiful girl, while waiting on a queue what perfume is she wearing. I think this was love at first smell, even though on another person. The next day I was at the store, trying this out on me and testing the longevity.
The first spray could be a bit off-putting for some, but wait until it develops on your skin. I've read that for some of you this is a generic perfume, but obviously I love the sexy, generically-warm scents. For me, this is a very inviting, welcoming, provocative and sexy perfume.
It definitely surprises you, because looking at the bottle you expect some aqua, summerish and fresh scent, but I find it more suitable for the winter and night time.

ChocolatesAndHoney

This is a difficult one for me. I adore the paradise line and own two of it's fragrances. While the original paradiso has a light, airy-fresh feel to it, the paradiso assoluto one feels warm, spicy, sensual.

This one is hard to place. The opening reminded me strongly of Paradiso assoluto but without the spiciness. Despite the very prominent pear note it's not a fruity scent. While the other paradiso perfumes radiate exoticism, this one almost has a wintery-cosy feel to it. It is well made and the pear/vanilla combination has an inviting, gourmand touch to it.

Sidenote: In my country this was so, so hard to find. I could find every Cavalli perfume in perfume stores except for this one.

I cannot agree with other reviewers that this is rather a winter than a summer fragrance. Yes, there is vanilla, but on me at least the orange fruity note lasts pretty long so it retains its summer vibe for me.

Then on the other hand... at least in Germany orange/mandarin scents are also a part of the advent season, so... depending on where you grew up you might associate it with either season.

For me this was a random impulse buy. I smelled it and instantly liked it as a vaguely familiar uncomplicated summer frag. However, whenever I wore it so far I found I couldn't help to keep wondering why this seems so familiar to me to a point where it really sends me into the weirdest nostalgic moods.

Then it hit me. In a weird way this reminds me of a line of 'Impulse' deodorants that were super 'in' among teenagers in the late 90s and early 2000s. I swear especially in the dry down it is as if someone mixed Impulse ID (was that the one with the vanilla note? may have been a different one, it's so long ago) with Impulse O2 (citrusy). Seriously, I remember us back then as teens spraying those in the morning and after PE and when you took your jacket or pullover off in between this is a lot what it smelled like (at least in my memory), albeit of course this perfume is somewhat stronger.

I don't know if anyone can relate to this experience, or if my memory of those Impulse deos is far off. Anyway, to me this perfume is upbeat, a bit 90s retro and for me personally really nostalgic. Love it!

Edit: I just figured I completely forgot to say anything about projection and longevity. In Mumbai winter weather (25 to 30 Celsius, dry air) this lasts on me for about 5 hours before becoming a skin scent. Projection for the first few hours is excellent, creating a proper scent bubble around you.

I picked this one up on clearance at TJ Maxx as a blind buy. If you are expecting a fruity summer frag, this one might trick you at first. It opens with a sweet pear note and hint of citrus, then it throws you a curve ball with the wood, vanilla, Amber and jasmine. I really like it so far. I definitely wouldn’t consider it a summer fragrance, it’s much too warm and cozy for that, but great for cooler temps.

aqua76239

I didn't read the reviews before I blind bought it so by the bottle (which is gorgeous btw) i assumed it was going to be sort of aquatic or maybe something tropical.
Wrong. It is supposed to bring to mind the the Mediterenian coast and not some island paradise so I actually think it captures that rather well. there is some green and woodsy here, bringing to mind the trees and flowers but yet its very woodsy. Its slightly sweet, thanks to vanilla but noone will describe it as gourmand scent. Its woodsy, slightly spicy and has some warmth from amber. It lays pretty close to the skin and really doesn't project much which is too bad.
After the top notes fade, it bears more than passing resemblance to Cashmere Mist. I like this but its not to die for scent. I think its sort of cozy scent, that is more suitable for winter than summer actually so the image projected doesn't quite fit the actual scent.
I dont think its safe blind buy because i can see why some people wont like it

stardust808

Take 3 parts CK One Summer 2014 softened by 1 part KVD Saint and this what we get for about 5 hours with excellent sillage. The next 3+ hours this is very close to DK Liquid Cashmere White but fuller and more well rounded with stronger silage than DK. I’m reminded of Kenneth Cole White as this fades into a skin scent. Very good longevity. I’m on hour 10 and can still smell this close to my skin. I blind bought this so it’s definitely a win!

sibaraa

This is too masculine for a female perfume. The vanilla is burried under those other strong notes.

Spencemonster

I need to give this one another try. I "blind" bought because I found it for a great price. I have the Paradiso Azzurro edition and adore it. This I thought the bottle was pretty and would be a nice floral vanilla. It is not. More woody and kind of sharp and stinky. The first spray was so gross I actually was turned off. I never am with a fragrance. THEN it dried down on me a bit and I thought okay this is manageable. Not so much. Just not a fan. will try again till I sell it.

raiza1990

This is so nice! Fresh, elegant and with just the right amount of sweetness for a summer fragrance. Really pretty and sensual. Also, one of the best pear notes out there. I think i like it even more than Paradiso Assoluto. This line is great!
Sillage is soft, longevity is long.
Final note: 7,5/10

Nikkafragrance

What a beauty! I can smell it even though I took a shower. Indeed, opens with a very strong vanilla note. However now after 4 hours and a shower I can smell ambar and beautiful woodsy notes. There is something that gives a green hint to the whole composition, maybe a pine three note. It reminds vaguely of Paradiso azzuro, however I'd love to wear Gemma in cold, humid weather, she will be heavenly, I'm sure.

Madrona

Ibiza in the afternoon. Tan Insta-girls with a full face of makeup in trendy bikinis and one-pieces under colorful beach dresses hurrying to and fro pre-parties along the San Antonio bay boardwalk.

Petrichor31

This fragrance reminds me of Lise Watier Vent du Sud which I already own and prefer. This one by Roberto Cavalli smells sweeter to me, too sweet to wear in the hottest days of summer. So I decided not to purchase it.

Tessa03

I really wanted to like this... but I am not sure I like it. I 100 percent agree witih another reviewer that it smells like Rio de Janeiro Bum Bum cream. I love that smell so I blind bought this to wear along with the body cream. It does smell very similar to that but it’s more sharp, more skreetchy..... and there’s this almost soapy quality to this that I can’t stand. I love the initial spray but it’s that sharpness and soapiness that longer that just kinda burn my nostrils. To say this perfume is long lasting is a gross understatement. I sprayed this on a towel in my bathroom and 4 days later I can still smell it when I walk in. My car still smells from me spraying my wrists. I don’t this is a safe blind buy at all. And seriously, if you spray yourself and you end up not liking this, it will hang on forever !!!! Be warned.

ozlemmenguloglu

givenchy pi really???

Holmskjell

This definitely has staying power! I used one spritz this morning, to test it out. Them took a shower, scrubbed my wrists, applied a different perfume, which I reapplied a few hours later. But I can't smell that at all, just this. Not sure if that's a warning or an endorsement, but regardless: this is not for anyone who switches up their scent mid-day.

Sjprest16

In my opinion this smells very very similar to Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian BumBum cream!! I too found this at shoppers on the little $19.99 shelf, gave it a sniff and couldn’t put my finger on where I’d smelled it before, so I bought a bottle and tried it on... and then it hit me, bum bum! So if you like that product you will like this. If you are unfamiliar with it, its almost hard to explain the scent but imagine you’re eating caramel ice cream while sitting next to some driftwood beside the warm salty ocean in the middle of June- which is oddly specific but that’s where my mind goes when I smell it.
When I first sprayed this there was a very fleeting (3 seconds-ish) smell of sweet pear. I personally enjoyed the pear and wish it had stuck around a while longer, it would have lifted the scent up and added something more interesting to this linear fragrance.
Overall this is a pretty inoffensive summer type scent which does in fact have good staying power as I sprayed the back of my hands and have washed them multiple times since then and it’s still going strong.

missswish

This smells a bit strange on me like "floral plastic". I think that this scent would work really well with male chemistry - kinda powdery like "PI"... :-)

genny17

I am really liking it ! At first sniff I thought oh my, a vanilla scent, and I am not big on vanilla, but very fast, it merges into a fresh fruity vanilla, a bit powdery, and I must say it smells real pretty...it reminds me of a few fragrances, Kors Midnight Shimmer, a bit of Aerin Tangier vanille, also a bit of Black Opium, in a distant way...overall, it is sweet, but not to the point of being a candy scent..it has a grown up vibe , like most Cavalli, and I really like it..the mix of fresh, warm., sweet is working great ! I find it cozy, feminine, interesting..better for cooler weather as the amber warms up the scent....in the end, a really good vanilla based scent..nicely constructed...llongevity isn't bad, it creates a nice cloud of vanilla delight around me...lovely !!,
People seem to love it, I haven't owned it long but I got many compliments already .

Lune d'Ete

This really did not work for me. Very sweet. If anyone wants it in Canada, please pm me.

Donna Amethyst

I can´t help myself but it smells like YSL Manifesto to me. I realized it only after the 3rd try so it was quite a disappointment because I thought I bought something I didn´t own yet. Until that I loved it but since then I can´t enjoy it so much. So I combine it with other fragrances to have something unique. But the bottle is absolutely gorgeous! Even opening the box is a pleasure because of its black interior, so it really looks like there was a gem!

Сияна.Славчева

I sense it mostly as powdery vanilla with wood scent on my skin. Nice simple everyday perfume. For me it's great for warm and cozy fall days. Sillage is soft, longevity good.

The green bottle is very pretty!

IkuraGirl

On my skin, this juice skips the fruity notes of pear and mandarin as listed in the perfume pyramid and heads right into the floral, woody and vanilla notes: I love it. I don’t detect the Mandarin note on my skin—it just morphs into a delicious mellow brew of vanilla, floral and woody notes.

Today, on the street, I was told, verbatim, “Wow, you smell fantastic!” And and it’s a good thing too, because this juice lingers on my skin well into the 8 hour mark.

It’s not a loud fragrance, but it doesn’t go unnoticed; it’s feminine but not saccharine. The woody, vanilla and floral notes blend together for a creamy, soft drydown that sits close to the skin. I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do, but I’ll definitely be looking out for another bottle. Repurchase ahead.

Edit: This is juice an unexpected compliment potion! I walked into a burrito place yesterday, and the reaction behind the counter was: “Your perfume smells so good.” For a blind buy at a discount price, I seem to have found a perfume that works particularly well for me.

A week or more into wearing this perfume, and The part note is absolutely and definitely present in the opening; not sure why initially I didn’t register it at all. The mandarin note continues to elude me, but like I said, the pear note is front and centre in the opening.

Madmoiselle Havisham

Charming potion. Soft, feminine, sensual beautiful mandarin followed by an amazing floral bouquet and supported by billowy vanilla and amber . I receieved so many compliments wearing this!
Love it!

This was also a Shoppers Drug Mart $19.99 find! One box left on the shelf, I got so lucky. I am surprised that this perfume doesn't have more loves, it's gorgeous. Right down to the diamond turquoise bottle, my favorite colour. The precious woods with amber in the base mixing with the vanilla; seamlessly I might add, is just absolutely divine! I can't get enough of it, so addictive. So happy with this, and to top it all off, it didn't break the bank, lol. A definite compliment getter as well. Tried it in this summer heat here, and it's not cloying at all, surprisingly. Can't wait to try this out in Autumn and winter, it's really gonna shine then! :)

Mona Lygre

Ooooo - I loooove the looooks of this bottle!

And, now it's on my wish list :D

SS79

Found a 30ml bottle of this on the $19.99 shelf at Shoppers Drug Mart (here in Canada) Never se the box before, so thought id give it a teat considering the price I didn't mind.
What can I say? I do really like it on my skin, It is very different than anything else I have in my current collection. The scent reminds me of something I cannot put my finger on, but then it is a unique addition to my collection.

Alexis Zoe P

This is a very beautiful vanilla-with-a-hint-of-amber fragrance!

Selena

Just sampled this, been 5 minutes since I've had it on.
The amber and vanilla, give the sweetness. Don't smell the other notes at all.
I find it tacky, sorry but flankers aren't always good.
Smells similar to little trees vanilla car freshener lol.

Perseia

I will never understand the concept of flankers which are completely the opposite than the original perfume, as I will probably never understand such sweet releases in the summer time.

The original Paradiso is a summery perfume, suitable for warm, hot days, for vacation, for the seaside. Gemma is something entirely different. It's a very lovely, sweet flowery fruity vanilla perfume. It starts of fruity, sweet, but still balanced, and ends up in an addictive vanilla.

I find it would work best in colder weather, maybe autumn days and evenings. It certainly feels too much in the hot summer but milder temperatures reveal the beauty of it.

lulu169

notes sound boring but the bottle color is georgeous!
